~3 days later~

The sound of a light flickering and night sounds could be heard throughout the dusty, cold room where she had been unconscious for 3 days. Her body was cold like the dead and skin pale just as so. Everything ached.

Zuri's head spun, eyes shut tight, hands closed in fist—her long and untrimmed nails digging into her calloused palms and as she tried to raise them, she felt the restriction. The cold metal applying pressure on her wrists as she wiggled them— the sound of heavy chains contributing to the amount of pain she was in.

Dum

Dum

Dum

Her heart literally felt like it was being ripped out of her chest as it beat undeniably fast and irregularly. It wasn't like the beat she'd get after running. This felt painful and she hated it.

Dum dum

Dum dum

Dum—

She heard a loud thump, now alert, she quickly raised her head with her eyes now squinted and realized she couldn't see a thing—everything was a blur but the room was also pitch black . She heard another loud noise as if metal was being banged against a hard surface.

She shut her eyes tightly wincing at the pain coming from almost every part of her body. Soon she opened them and squinted again, trying to regulate her breathing.

After a few minutes all the noise stopped and majority of the pain subsided and now Zuri could focus on what really mattered.

'Where am I?' She thought and just as she was beginning to panic, the sound of an old rusty door opening alerted Zuri. She snapped her head up and saw two male figures entering through a grey metal door, casting light from outside the room she was kept in to shine through.

Her eyes closed shut tightly, giving her an even bigger headache. She didn't open her eyes, not even when the door had closed.

She struggled to remember the last memory before this. Scared wasn't a factor in this scenario, more like anxious and upset.

She'd be lying if she said she didn't see this coming, knowing there was only person behind this. Moments had led up to just this, she saw the signs and ignored them.

Zuri was desperate to continue living in denial. She couldn't stomach nor was she ready to face Satan.

Not when she had found happiness. It was ripped away and she couldn't blame anyone but herself.

Now here she was—she opened her eyes to see light now in the room, and immediately made eye contact with someone she was hoping she'd never see again.

"Hello. It's good to finally see you." The one and only, Jerome Tillman Okani or known in the streets, Happy, standing in the middle of the room with his hands folded in front of him a big smile on his face showing off his grills. Another man stood behind him in the same stance but with a blank face.
