In the morning Ankhesmaaten woke up alone. Sighing to herself, she called for a servant to bring her breakfast. A tray of figs and other fruits was brought to her. As she sat, nibbling at her food, she contemplated her situation. Less that 2 months since the wedding and already she was ignored. Nefertiti had wormed her way into bearing another child. If it was a boy, all hope was lost. That was it! She would have a priest make her fertility potions, and pray to the Godess Bast for the ability to bear a child. The Pharoah was not going to ignore her. Brother, husband, or not, she would have his undivided attention. Finishing her breakfast, she called for Maat, her loyal handmaiden. "Find me a priest, and arrange a meeting in my chambers." Maat bowed low and hurried off. Hours later Maat returned with a priest. Bowing low, he asked her, "what can i do for your highness?" "I want you to make me fertility potions and to make sacrifices to the Goddess Bast. If i were to become pregnant, certain monetary donations would be awarded you and your family," Ankhesmaaten said with a smile. Taking a ring off of her finger, she handed it to him, "a gift for your discretion." Bowing low again, he hurried off. Settling back in her seat, Ankhesmaaten smiled. Later on that day, as she sat in her gardens, a servant announced that Kiya requested an audience. Waving her hand to signal consent, she straightened her dress and awaited her rivals approach. Kiya emerged shortly through the courtyard doorway and bowed her head, "Sister, i greet you. How are you on this fine day?" Ankhesmaaten faked a smile and replied, "I am quite well. And how are you?" Kiya grimaced, "Not so well. Im sure you heard of Nefertiti's pregnancy. Shes become even more jealous as her hormones rage. I just thought I'd ask for some company. The Pharoah hasnt seen fit to visit me for some time." Ankhesmaaten smiled, this might be a interesting development.
