The Bank

Louis has just been discharged from the hospital and instead of heading right home he's going to the sperm bank. He's decided that children won't happen for him - at least not right now - so he's going to help it happen for someone else.

He asks the Uber driver to drop him off at the McDonald's a few buildings down from the sperm bank, as to not reveal exactly what he's about to do. Louis waddles down the street after watching the car drive away, starting to feel the discomfort of the medical boost the doctors gave him. It gave him a little bit of a height boost, but only on one side, and it made Louis intensely uncomfortable.

Pushing open the doors to the building, Louis starts to feel nervous. He worries that he's taken on too much too quickly, but after making note of the nervous looking couple in the waiting room he decides this is a good idea. Louis walks up to the front desk and shoots the receptionist a polite smile while she finishes up a phone call, "I'm sorry," she says, "we actually legally aren't allowed to send you sperm but uhh...if you could clarify for m- hello? are you still there? no? okay." she deeply exhales and sets the phone back onto the desk and smiles kindly at Louis. "Hello there, sir" she says courteously, "how can i help you out today?" He thinks for a moment and nods confidently, "Do you want my sperm?" He notices she looks taken aback and quickly realized he's misspoken. "oh..um i actually meant would I be able to donate some sperm?" The receptionist lets out a quiet laugh and replies, "We'll have to set you up with a doctor and ask some questions. It'll be a long process, but if the doctor clears you for donation it would be a possibility, yes. Before we set you up with the doctor, may I take your name?" "Louis Tomlinson" He says

"Alright then Louis, right your phone number down here and we'll give you a call when a doctor is free." she says as she slides a clipboard across the desk. Louis writes down his number and looks at her inquisitively before saying, "I kinda thought it would be easier." She smiles softly and offers to walk him out.

Louis quickly realizes he'll have to call an Uber to pick him up from the bank and mumbles to himself, "Don't have the fucking money for this, God."

...

A few minutes later Louis is in the back of another Uber and on the drive back to his apartment, he's gotten lost in his excitement of helping someone to create life when suddenly the driver says, "you coming?" without thinking, Louis quickly replied "yes." The driver raises an eyebrow and says with a hint of irritation, "well then why aren't you gettin' outta the car?" Louis turns bright red and hurries out of the vehicle and runs up to his apartment, slamming the door behind him.

Louis wakes up the next morning to the obnoxious ringing of his phone. He gropes around blindly for it with no success, so he just angrily snatches his charger cord off the bedside table, taking his phone to the ground with it. He answers the call and is greeted with the familiar voice of the receptionist from the prior evening, "Hello, is this Mr. Tomlinson?" "Yeah, is this the sperm lady?" he answered quickly. "Yes," she laughs, "we've set up a doctor for you, does an appointment today at 9 o'clock work for you, Mr. Tomlinson?" "Yes," Louis glances at the clock quickly, it read 7:45, "I'll be there." He says, quickly hanging up the phone and sprinting to the bathroom to get ready.

He selects his finest dark blue sweatshirt and an easy pair of dark jeans. Louis decides his hair looks at least acceptable, it's not like anyone at the sperm bank is going to be judging him if his hair isn't perfectly coiffed. He then runs downstairs, shouting a quick hello to the old lady who was leaving her apartment next door, and hops on his bike, revving its engine and tearing out the parking lot.

After pulling into the parking lot at the sperm bank he runs into the building, unable to contain his excitement at the opportunity that awaits; his future could change right at this very second, he thinks to himself. He greets the receptionist, she responds, "Hello, the doctor will be with you shortly. Take a seat in the meantime." Louis selects a particularly uncomfortable chair and starts thumbing through a magazine, trying to find something interesting to cling to, when suddenly a mellow voice rings through the waiting room, "Mr. Tomlinson, I'm ready to see you now." Louis looks up and is greeted with a bright white coat and even brighter green eyes.
