"Chestnuts roasting on an open fire... Jack Frost nipping at your nose..."

Meticulously dainty hands carefully piped the sweet but royally spiced icing onto the most perfectly executed gingerbread cookies as a lovely singing voice hummed along to the lyrics of the famous tune. A man... a house... a tree... a star.

Once dressed, each cookie was then slid carefully onto the serving tray from its spatula transport, ready to be consumed by loved ones for the holiday season.

"There... all done!"

Barbara Millicent Carson stood back with her pipette slung over her shoulder as if she just carved a masterpiece from marble, proud of her most recent concoction of ginger treats... along with the hoards of sugar cookies, lady locks, thumbprints, peanut butter crisps, no-bakes... The list went on and on.

I hope I didn't go overboard on the sweets...

"Lookin' good! Oh, and the cookies look delicious, too."

Barbie giggled and shook her head lovingly, placing her pipette on the table. Peering over at her husband as he snuck a bite of his favorite peanut butter cookies next to her, she snarked out.

"Har har har..."

Ken chuckled, mouth full of cookie, leaned over and placed a crumbly kiss to her cheek. She laughed again, "Ken!"

"What? Mmmm... peanut butter kiss!", he teased her, letting another kiss linger on her lips.

Barbie loved him... absolutely adored his goofiness. He was loving, caring, supportive, sweet, strong... the best complete human being she had ever known.

And he just happened to be her husband.

Ken and Barbie had been through way too much that any normal couple would even imagine going through. Friends since seven and a half, the ups and downs they'd endured would put anyone down and out of a relationship, but the two of them grew even stronger and stronger.

Their limits were pushed further when the added stress of Barbie turning into a secret spy at 15 threw them for a loop. Barbie was recruited for the local Hollywood I3 secret spy agency, traveling around the world solving mysteries and righting wrongs under the guidance of the Head Agent Zoe.

Once Ken found out about the secret on their family trip to Catalina that same summer, he promised her he'd always be there for her, no matter what. Which, to be honest, would have happened anyway because of his blossoming feelings for her.

Between that whirlwind of a vacation with the bounty hunters and Cullen Stevenson to Barbie living in New York for her senior year away from family, and from the Floravian Pearl Thefts and mind-control scheme of Scott Dunbar to the horrible scenario of the staged blackmailing frame-up in San Diego with Dunbar's son, David, the testament to the lengths Barbie and Ken would go for each other were put to the test. And they passed with flying colors.

Then the inevitable happened...

Ken proposed during their junior year of college while on spring break in Paris, not being able to contain any longer his desire to spend the rest of his life with the lovely young woman. Barbie exuberantly accepted his proposal.

Once graduation ended, the small intimate wedding of close friends and family was held by that early December on the shores of Malibu at sunset.

The most perfect day... at that point in time.

Now? Barbie and Ken were preparing a wonderful holiday meal for their parents and Barbie's sisters at their apartment in San Francisco.

Ken released his loving lip lock from his wife's dreamy mouth, making her giggle and smile at his open affection.
