I woke up in my bed with boxes covering my room. My father and my brother, Zach, moved to California to start fresh after my mother had died. I didn't want to leave my friends or the family I had left. It was the first day of school, and I was nervous. Even though I have been to many schools. I was buzzed out of my thoughts when my alarm clock went off. I pressed the top button, and the noise stopped. I got up and walked to my bathroom. I plugged in my straighter and waited for it to warm up. As I waited, I grabbed my backpack and put everything I needed inside. I walked back to my bathroom and took the straighter. I went from top and slowly went down to the bottom leaving my hair straight. I went to my closet and picked out an outfit. I decided on a long dress with a triangle pattern and a pair of white sandals. I went to my vanity and sat down. I opened my makeup bag, and put on my usual. Brown eyeshadow, mascara, and eyeliner. I grabbed my backpack and went down stairs. I prepared my breakfast, which was plain cheerios, with strawberries and milk, with orange juice. I sat down and leaned against the island just thinking, when my thoughts were interrupted by Zach walking into the kitchen.
"Morning." I said softly.
"Morning" he replied
"You don't seem happy to go to school." He said.
"I'm not. I didn't even want to come here. I don't want to be the stupid new kid that everyone hates!"
"No one is going to hate you."
"That's easy for you to say. Everyone likes you. Girls, guys, and parents. Your on the lacrosse, and football team, you get straight As all the time, and... UGH!"
"Hey relax, you'll be fine. But if some guy tries anything on you I will knock em dead!" He said while pounding his fist in his other hand. All I could manage to do was to giggle and nod my head.
