I come back from school and lock the door behind me. I sigh in relief and plop on my bed. "Thank god it's over." I say out loud. I take a quick nap and then when I wake up I grab my phone and keys. "Dad, I'm going out for a walk." I yell. "Be back by 5:00!" He yells back. "Alright!" and then I head out the door. I walk around some random park's lake when I see the last person I wanted to see.
Noah.
"Oh hey, pumpkin." He smirks.
"Don't." I say through gritted teeth.
"Awe come-" I interrupt him with holding a finger up at him. "If you're going to make a stupid remark just to piss me off, I do not want to hear it, Noah."
"Fierce." Noah chuckles. "Retarded." I tell him.
"Awe babe. Can't you come up with anything better?" He pouts. "Awe babe. Can't you look any better?" I mock him.
"I like your attitude, Coleman." He smiles. "It's Maddie." I fire back at him and walk away.
I hear Noah laugh slightly but I ignore it. He runs up to me and grabs me."What in the-?" I cry.
"Um..Maddie? Can you..I mean would you?" He laughs.
"Would you like to go out for dinner sometime?" He scratches the back of his head, smiling.
I jump back, startled. "No. N-No. Sorry." I tell him and I pull back a strand of hair, walking quickly away.I can't. I couldn't possibly go out with anyone. I can't manage it.
