"Have you talked to Michael at all since he was with us earlier?"

Luke shook his head, fiddling with the belt loop on my hip and lifting his head to look at me, "But I'm sure he'll be here soon, so.."

I bit my lip and nodded, closing my eyes after. We'd been back from work for about two hours now and still hadn't heard anything from Michael about him and Calum coming over, which would've been okay if he didn't leave the shop the way he did. We didn't understand exactly what he meant by what he said, but I'm hoping he isn't doing something stupid.

Luke let go of the belt loop and wrapped his arms around my waist loosely, pulling me closer into his chest than I was before. Our legs slotted between each others, Lukes chin sat on top of my head as we got comfortable. I couldn't help but blush even though being this close to him wasn't new- at all.

He started humming a song that I felt I didn't know at first, but I quickly realized it was the same song he'd sung to me with his guitar before asking me to be his girlfriend. Thinking of it, I could only feel my cheeks become redder.

The sound of a few loud knocks on the front door startled us both, then sent us into a short fit of giggles.

"Thats pronably them," Luke mumbled, shuffling off of the bed and adjusting his shirt once he stood up, "lets go."

I nodded, following his movements of getting off the bed. I was a little sad to be getting out of my comfy spot on the bed with Luke, honestly.

As we walked down the stairs to the door, I adjusted my own shirt and combed my fingers through my hair so it didn't look as ridiculous. When Luke opened the front door, we could see Michael and Calum standing there, both smiling widely.

After all of us exchanged hellos and the two of them had only taken a few steps into the front door, Michaels hands flew up with a loud gasp.

"If we leave right now and go to that arcade downtown, we'll have an hour and a half to play until it closes."

Lukes eyes lit up for a second, but soon after his lips formed into a tight line as if he suddenly was extremely unimpressed with Michael.

"Lets go, then. You'll love it there, Jem," He murmured, turning to me as he said the last part. In a hurry, all of us rushed to the door and outside, following Michael.

**

Luke wanted to drive all of us in his car, not Michaels uncomfortable and messy car, but Michael offered to buy all of Lukes tokens, so we ended up in his backseat.

"Out, out, out," Michael pressed, unlocking the car doors and urging everyone out of the car. I turned towards the short building the arcade belonged to after I managed to get out (it was hard- Luke couldn't move his legs from the confined space we were in, and I couldn't get out the other door. Only one worked) and smiled softly at it. It made sense they liked this place, from looking at it you could tell it was a place a group of boys would hang out at. It had a flickering 'open' sign hanging on the door and through the dim windows you could see flashy arcade games.

We all followed Michael inside, since he was clearly the most excited and quickest to make it to the the doors. Once we were all inside, we made it to the machine that gave you tokens, depending on how much money you fed into it. We decided to split up and all of us do our own thing, but I ended up staying with Luke anyways. Only because he wanted me to, though.

**

"We still have like, enough time to play a few more games." Calum murmured, leaning against a PacMan machine as he spoke. He glanced at all of us, and his eyes looked a little sad.

"I don't know if I want to leave."

"Of course you don't, Michael. This is basically your fucking habitat." Luke mumbled, chuckling as he elbowed him gently in the ribs, making Michael roll his eyes.

"Not because of that," he sighed, "this place just makes me think of Ashton. We always came here with him, you know? Just so he could flirt with that girl working at the counter where they sell prizes for tickets." He spoke softly, glancing around the place. "I mean- I shouldn't miss him. He's a total douche now."

Luke cleared his throat, running a hand through his blond hair, "But he was our douche."

I, honestly, didn't know what to say. I never knew this side of Ashton that they were missing. But I could only hope that side would come back, for their sake.

"I guess.. it doesn't feel right without him." Calum murmured. His arms were crossed and he was looking down, showing only the top of his dark brown hair. And a portion of blond.. was that always there? "Someone needs to talk to him- figure out whats going on.. and not you, Michael. Not again."

Michael rolled his eyes, sighing softly. I'm sure that if that fight hadn't happened, he would've offered to do it.

"I will."

The voice beside me suddenly sounded so small. I couldn't tell if Luke regretted saying it as he got the words out, or if he knew it was a little out of place to offer to talk to Ashton.
