"Trust me!" Will's voice was a faint, painful crack in the darkness surrounding them. He smiled at Nico with his bruised lips curling up into a half smile. The son of Hades cried as he tried to dig his fingernails deeper into the soft arms of his lover.

He had no grip, his hands were slippery and his tears weren't helping at all.
"No! I won't let go of you! Never!" He yelled as if the gods could hear him and change their fate.

"Nico," Will looked calm as he stopped scrambling for grip beneath his feet, he couldn't find it anyways "Nico, my darling, I'll always find my way to you."

"You don't know what you're talking about! You can't fall! You'll die." His voice was barely a whisper as the words came out.

Will looked up to him, just as Nico lost the grip on one of his boyfriends arms, now only holding on with a couple of fingers. The son of Apollo gasped as his chest hit the rock with a loud thud and coughed up dark drops of blood.

He gave Nico a last smile, toothy and as bright as his left over strength allowed him to. It barely light up his face but the Italian boy was able to see the bruises on his lovers face, the dim, dead shimmer his blue eyes held and the tossed, dirty blonde hair framing his features.

"Nico," Will said again "we'll find each other again, I promise. Trust me."

And with that Will let go. Nico had to watch his sun falling into the depths of the dark abyss. As the shock went through his veins, the cliff disappeared in front of his eyes.

"Will..." he whispered and felt how his heart shattered into pieces once again.

"Will! I trust you! Will!" Nico wandered through the darkness. He didn't know how long he had been there, in Tartarus.

Days, weeks, months, it all didn't matter. It all blended into a singular mess of emotions, fighting and searching for the love of his life.

The son of Hades had no tears left to cry, no words to say. He was barely alive, only holding on by the thought of finding his sun again because without him he wouldn't be able to live.

Only in brief moments of his instincts kicking in he noticed where he was, what surrounded him. Nico was weak, the weeks of malnourishment and dehydration left their mark on him.

"Son of Hades." He heard the whispering voices in the dark, they consumed his last drops of life.

He spun around, not even having the strength to lift his sword in defence as a sharp blade cut through him.

Nico smiled, deep down in his heart he knew he already lost his light. Deep down in his heart he knew that Will must have barely survived the fall itself. Deep down in his heart he knew that Will died slowly, in pain and surrounded by unfamiliar darkness.

Would they be reunited now? Finally? His thoughts were strangely clear, as if someone splashed water into his face. He was slowly dying, the shadows creeping closer, devouring him bit by bit.

He knew Will was dead.

"I wonder where my first love is now." He smiled calmly and felt his last breath caress his lips with the last soft touch he will feel.

Would they meet again in Elysium?

"I wonder..." he whispered and closed his eyes. Silence.
