"Mom? ...When are we going back to the doctor? I feel worse. Worse than earlier." A little girl had asked her mother, tugging on her shirt. "The doctor, dear? I can take you there right now if it's an emergency! But how do you feel?" The mom turned to face her "I have a really bad headache..and my stomach is getting worse..But I don't know why! Can we make an appointment please?" Her mother nodded quickly "Of course dear! I'll call the doctors right now...Wait! Did I give you your doses of medicine today? I'm sorry..my memory is terrible..." Her daughter nodded "It's okay mom! And yes! You gave me my medicine earlier, it was disgusting though" "Ah, that's a relief to know you had it at least..now go get yourself ready while I make the appointment, alright dear?" The girl nodded "Okay mother!"
Later that evening at the doctor's office.
The girl and her mother were just about to leave, yet the mom kept arguing with the doctor, as the daughter sat down, crying silently as she stared at the lollipop in her hand . "WHAT DO YOU MEAN, 'SHE CAN'T GET BETTER'!? YOU GOTTA BE JOKING..!" "I'm sorry ma'm , you already know the case don't you? We've told you this before. We tried everything we were able to do, I'm afraid she won't be cured." "WELL WHAT ABOUT ANYONE ELSE? YOU'RE NOT HELPING. MY DAUGHTER WILL BE CURED OF THIS ILLNESS, I DON'T CARE IF YOU CAN'T DO IT YOURSELVES, I'LL FIND SOMEONE ELSE BESIDES YOU AND THEY'LL HAVE A CURE. GOODBYE." The woman stormed out the door, took her daughter, got in the car and drove back home, furious, yet heartbroken. She had already gone to many other doctors, only to get a cure for the disease that was affecting her daughter "I'm...sorry about all of that dear..but you'll get better, I promise!" The girl was silent, staring out the window, but nodded as they soon pulled into the driveway of their house, both getting out of the car and going inside.
The sick girl stared at the glass jar that sat on the counter in the kitchen, it was filled with all last year and this year's Halloween candy, as well as more candy she received from others at any other time. She loved sweet treats of any kind, though they weren't quite healthy, she'd still eat as much as she wanted, though sometimes the mother would have to stop her so she wouldn't throw up. She would sometimes find comfort in them, sometimes when she'd get sad, she would think about eating a large chocolate cake to make her feel better.
But no matter what she could do. She couldn't feel better about her sickness, it was terribly painful, yet no one could do much, and her mom was the one doing most to her.Even still, she just wanted to go to her own little world where she would never have to feel sick or hurt again.
