The lithe maid's beauty betrayed the destitute appearance of her shabby clothes. She nervously entered the prince's room with her dustcloth. "I hope hes gone" she thought, "he'd be furious if i walked in while he was here".

Tentatively opening the door Audrey glanced around. The coast was clear. The room was the definition of wealth and comfort, everything velvet covered and gilded. She stepped back out into the hall to grab her bucket. As she walked back in, Audrey heard a door open

.....And there was the Prince, in a towel, standing in the bathroom door way. His chiseled shoulders still beaded with moisture, washboard abs glistening in the soft light, Audrey was unable to move. Realizing she'd been staring, she stumbled back, spilling her bucket and tripping on the carpet. As she fell her head hit the corner of the dressing table.

As everything faded to black she heard footsteps.

Audrey came to, and a gentle hand was wiping her head with a cloth. She opened her eyes with a wince, "who'd have thought hitting your head would give you such a splitting headache" she thought wryly. Looking up into the prince's face her eyes widened. "I- Im sorry- I was just cleaning and...." she stuttered, trying to sit up.

He gently but firmly pressed her back down, "You were out for quite a while, you'd better rest for a bit" "And it's perfectly fine, I told the waitstaff I'd be out all day, but came in early" She was blushing a deep crimson at being so close to him. He hasn't taken time to put on a shirt while she was out, she noticed.....Trying to distract herself, she made conversation.

"What caused you to get back so soon, if you don't mind my asking of course, sir"

"You can drop the 'sir', to be honest im not a fan of the formalities" his chuckle rumbled through his chest. "A hunting accident, so to speak. My horse spooked, and i was thrown, if I hadn't landed in the lake, I wouldn't've come back. But you know, as cold as it is ...."

"Yes, of course, it has been brutally cold lately" as she sat up, Audrey noticed that he has layed her on his bed. Blushing every shade of red known to man, she said "Well I appreciate your concern, but I really feel fine now. If you'll just let me get back to work."

"Are you sure? You took a pretty hard fall" he said leaning down to catch her eyes.

"Definitely. Im perfectly alright, but i really appreciate your concern" He handed her the now empty bucket, and cloth. "Good afternoon" Audrey smiled as she stepped back into the hall, closing the door behind her.
