A Fatal Love

The sun has barely risen in the distance, and the birds sing their early song.

Y/n laid in bed, wide awake. She hadn't slept a wink

"Oh God, what do I do now..."

Last night Y/n had been celebrating a recent success on a mission with the musketeers when Athos had gotten drunk.

The others were still partying so Y/n led Athos upstairs so he could rest for the night. After sitting with him on the bed for a moment to make sure he was okay, she stared to stand so she could get him some water.

But Athos hugged her tightly not allowing her to move.

" Athos I promise I'm not leaving for the night,  Just let me go downstairs to get you some water!"

"No." He said firmly. "I don't need water, I just need to hold you for a moment." 

Unable to do anything without hurting him, and since he hadn't done anything to hurt her. Y/n sat beside Athos allowing him to lean on her shoulder while holding her close.

They say in silence for a bit before y/n spoke.

"Honestly you act like such a child sometimes." There was no malice in her words just endearment.

"Well you love this man despite is faults."

"Yes, yes I do." She said, chuckling as moving her hand to rest on his cheek.

"If I wasn't such a coward I'd ask you to marry me right now."

"What?"  Y/n turned to look at Athos. "You, want to marry me?"

Athos looked confused and bit hurt "Why? Do you not want to?"

"Of course I do! But you've never mentioned this to me..." Trying to calm a now on the verge of tears, drunk Athos, she combs her hand though his hair slowly.

He leans into her touch closing his eyes with a slight smile "Well maybe I'll ask you soon then..."

And now Y/n sits panicking, on her bed, half asleep.

"He wants to propose to me?"
