"Come on, baby."
"Mom, I'm not a baby anymore. I'm big enough to protect you. Until when are you gonna keep on calling me that?"
She smiled warmly at her son and kissed his cheeks.
"Who's protecting who? You're not even tall enough to reach mommy's shoulder."
Fawn chuckled. Her son is always sweet and protective of her. She love this side of him because she can really see how much her son loves her. But sometimes her son would worry about things that are normal for his age. She read somewhere that kids at the age of four often act like spoiled brats. She sometimes wishes her son would act like that sometimes.
"Where do you want me to take you, mom? I asked grandpa for money so it's gonna be my treat."
She chuckled.
"I was the one who asked for a date. Of course it's gonna be my treat. You can save that money to buy toys or something."
"Mom! I'm a man, so it's only natural for me treat a beautiful lady such as you. Besides, I don't need toys."
Fawn laughed. She couldn't help but pinch her son's cheek. Calyx was way too cute.
"Who says you're a man? You're always mommy's baby, okay? I love you."
"Da-"
"Hmm?"
Fawn looked at her son, waiting for him to say what he was about to say.
"I love you more, mom. So, where do you want to go?"
"Hmm. How about the amusement park?"
Calyx immediately complained.
"Mom, are you gonna make me ride carousels again? Like last time? I'm too old for those."
Fawn laughed.
"How old do you think you are?"
"I'm four! Old enough to be a man."
Fawn pinched his cheeks.
"Then let's go to a park. It's where people usually go for a date, right?"
Calyx immediately nodded his head.
It wasn't long before they arrived at the park. There were couples and families who were spending their time together at the park.
"Kael, would you mind buying us snacks?"
Kael immediately left to buy their food.
"So, our date's gonna be a picnic? I like it."
Of course, Fawn knew that Calyx likes it. Ever since he was a kid, he loved observing people. And he often deduces information based on what he observes
There was this one time. They were at a mall in Japan. Calyx was fidgeting something on Fawn's phone. She was shocked when a police car arrived at the parking lot.
"Bad people deserves to be in jail."
That was something Calyx said that she wouldn't be able to forget. He was only three years old that time. Fawn frowned when she saw an unknown number on the recent calls.
"Calyx, did you call someone?"
Her son was too smart. She knew that the number wasn't just a random number. She gasped when she realized something.
"Were you the one who called those police?"
"Sort of."
"Baby, can you tell mommy what happened?"
