As thunder clapped in the distance and clouds rolled in, painting the sky grey instead of the different colours it normally illuminated. Chat Noir sat silently on the rooftop watching down towards the street.

The people were walking by, unaware of his presence. He could sit here for hours on end watching the time fade away as the night fell over the streets and all of those people down there wouldn't even knew he existed, that he was even there to begin with.

Why would they? Hawkmoth was gone, had been for over a year now. They lost interest in the heroes soon after, feeling safe and finally at peace, living like nothing happened at all.

But here Chat was, trying to keep those glory days alive. The ones where he felt as though he was needed and loved, less hallow then the house he grew up in.

Anything was better then being there.

A light touch to his gloved hand brought him out of his concentrated state, snapping his head to the familiar feeling. A light tear ran down his mask and over his cheek at the movement. The soft breeze only making it known when coolness was what he felt.

When did he start crying?

"What are you doing up here all alone again?" Ladybug's soft voice asked him, her head tilted down to try and look into his eyes as he tried to look down and away from her.

He couldn't let her see him cry. Not now!

Trying so hard to wipe the remainder of his tears away, Chat took a deep breath before daring to glance back at her. His eyes drifted back to the hand she'd touched, noticing her hand had now been missing and the feeling had gone. His eyes snapped up to where her face was smiling at him just moments ago, but that was also absent from his side.

Why was it everytime he got close to her she would disappear from him?

Hearing her laughter, Chat looked over to the rooftops across from him seeing her wave his way before twirling around on the spot with one foot, swiftly but gracefully like a ballerina. He was confused how she made it over there that fast, but he didn't dare question it, just smiled fondly at how care free she seemed.

He loved this girl more than life itself.

Stopping on the spot, Ladybug looked his way, her hair blowing in the breeze that was picking up by the storm that was coming in. Her laughter sounding like a Melody even when she covered her mouth to hide the gesture.

"You coming kitty?" She asked like it was simple.

A task he use to do on a daily basis was now not as simple as it seemed.

Chat got up onto his feet, his boots stilling on the edge of the rooftop. One step off and he could join her, be happy, be free, like they were in the old days. Leaving the world behind to follow her like he always did.

But he couldn't. Not anymore.

Shutting his eyes tight to stop the tears running again he tried to take another breath, only this one came out shaky. Why was he breaking down so much? What was going on with him?

It had never been this bad before.

He tried to open his eyes, blinking rapidly to rid the tears free-falling out. His vision was blurry behind the water works, but even the red of her suit was not hard to miss in the darkness.

Only it had disappeared once again.

Why did she keep leaving him?

His mask furrowed as eyes shut tight once more. All self control crumbling down again. His legs couldn't hold him up any longer, he could feel them shake with the rest of his body before collapsing back down on the rooftop. His arm was the only thing that braced the fall and holding him up.
