Jackson Midnight had finally turned eighteen, a full moon on his birthday. He was excited since today was the day he became Alpha of Midnight Blood Moon pack. Even though he had his first shift at the age of thirteen to find his mate, he had never met them.

He knew it wasn't anybody from his pack so he thought it must be someone from a different pack. But he never met any she wolves from other packs since he was busy preparing for the Alpha role. His father took charge, not his mother interrupt the training unless it was within reason.

Jackson did get to hang out with his friends but he hadn't went to any of the parties because of his father. After the ceremony, Jackson was finally able to go to such parties since he couldn't be bossed around by his father anymore. Even though he had a nagging feeling that he couldn't go because he felt obligated to stay and constantly work hard on the paperwork, tend to upcoming meetings, and numerous other responsibilities.

Jackson's mother felt sorry for her son but there wasn't much she could do at the time. After the Ceremony, Jackson decided since it was his birthday, he should at least be able to celebrate it the way he wanted to. So he left with his loyal friends James and Austin. James was his Beta while Austin was his Gamma. They were the best at several things in the pack and closest to Jackson.

That night Jackson wore a loose blue t-shirt, denim jeans, and some work boots. He smiled as he looked around at the outcome of his party. There was several camp fires going on with several groups of werewolves around them. Some were eating s'mores, talking about different topics while others were having a make out session. If he listened closely, he would hear some moans behind some bushes.

As Jackson looked around at his fellow pack members, he noticed a faint scent of waterfalls and strawberry. He followed it as the scent got stronger.

Carla was out for a run like she did every night. She was dressed in a pink outfit which allowed her to breath easy without it being so tight. She enjoyed her run as she ran past the tree lines that had separated the two pack territories.

As she was running, Carla heard the sound of what seemed to be music and laughter. Her curiosity got the best of her so she started to walk closer, not realizing that she was crossing over into another pack's territory.

Jackson started to walk towards the river until he noticed that the smell came from a different woman. In fact, he turned to see her.

"Mate." Jackson said to himself. The party was for a few different packs to come to celebrate his birthday and to find their mates. He noticed that she didn't notice him as he walked up from her left.

"Hello. Now who might you be?" Jackson asked.

Carla looked at Jackson as she shrugged a bit. "Hmm, my name's Carla. I'm from your neighboring pack. Who are you?" She asked politely as she scanned the crowds.

She had noticed that a pleasant scent of great dirt and dark chocolate came from Jackson. But she tried her best to ignore it, as she knew it would mean trouble for them both.

"I'm Jackson, the new Alpha of my pack. Would you like to join the party with me?" Jackson asked as he slowly looked Carla over.

Carla shrugged a bit as she gave a small smile. "Sure, but I've never been to a party before. Are there rules?"

"Rules? I don't know which parties you've been to, but I don't think there is any. So don't think you need to worry as long as you don't get in the way of others, I think you'll be fine." Jackson answered her.

"Mmm, alright." Carla nodded a bit as she then walked more into the area.

Jackson stayed beside her during the entire party. "You're so beautiful." Jackson said lowly almost as if he was whispering.

Carla blushed a bit as she smiled at him. "Why thank you."

"You know I believe we're supposed to be fated mates." Jackson said as he nodded a little.

"O-oh?" Carla asked a bit shyly.

"Yes. Since I'm the Alpha of my pack. That means you'll be the Luna of the same pack." Jackson said, giving her a slight smile.

"Oh but I am the future Luna of my own pack." Carla replied as she sat down near the campfire. "Well sort of... I haven't phased into my wolf yet."

"Really? Well we can merge our packs if you wish when things become more official." Jackson offered as he took a seat beside her.

"That might not go over well with my father... I'm part of the Sundance pack." Carla looked down a bit ashamed as her pack was know as the weakest pack in the area. Her father was sworn enemies of the Blood Moon pack and he hated pretty much every pack out there.

"He uh, wanted me to marry within my pack... Not my mate. I'm lucky I got to go for a run tonight." Her wolf Zyla, started howling in sadness at the thought of not being with their true mate.

Jackson became angry and upset at the very idea of losing his mate just after finding her.

"I refuse. You're mine and I'm not giving up my true mate." Jackson growled. He leaned into Carla as he wrapped his arm around her. "I won't let your father get in the way."

Carla blushed a bit from Jackson calling her his. She leaned into him, enjoying his touch, but winced a bit from the pain her back had from the sudden contact.

"Jackson... It's not that easy. My father has me bound to his pack." Carla brought up her wrist, showing the bound mark only an Alpha can give to keep pack members from ever leaving.
