Hello everyone! This is my first novel I ever wrote. As you can see, I'm not planning to publish this book here in wattpad because I know there are so many grammar errors and I'm not so sure of it. Writing is not my thing or hobby but I enjoyed writing anyway. Hope you guys understand. Thank you for choosing this book. Hope you guys enjoy reading! Happy reading everyone!

"Once upon a time, a beautiful fairy, the Snow Queen, lived on the highest, most solitary peaks of the Alps. The mountain folk and shepherds climbed to the summits to admire her, and everyone fell head over heels in love with her..." My mom was sitting beside me on the couch while holding a children's book on her hand. I lay down on the couch while rested my head on my mom's lap. My sister Jamailah, on the other hand, was sitting in the opposite direction while she hugged tightly her huge teddy bear in her arms. Both of us listened carefully of the story. She was telling us a story entitled 'The Snow Queen'.

"Every man would have given anything, including his life, to marry her. Indeed, their lives are just what they did give, for Fate had decided that no mortal would ever marry the Snow Queen... But in spite of that, many brave souls did their best to approach her, hoping always to persuade her..."

"Mommy, why did Fate decided that no mortwal would ever marry the Snowie Qwueen?" My little sister Jamailah asked curiously.

"Yeah, mom. Why?" I second the motion.

Mom slightly closed the book on her left hand while her right hand caressed my long straight hair that almost covered my face and she looked at Jamailah with a warm smile on her face.

"Because she's a cold-hearted and emotionless. She doesn't know how to love. As if she was only designed to be admired by men, love." My mom answered.

"Oww... I thwink that's awful, mommy. I want to be like Rapwunzel who met her pwince chwarming and lived happily ever aftwer." Jamailah said cheerfully. She smiled widely, showing no teeth at the center of her mouth.

Even if I didn't say anything, I wanted to be like those princesses in the fairy tale books to have a perfect ending or 'lived happily ever after' in the real life. I dreamt about that...

"Okay, love. Someday you'll become like her. Now, let's go back to the story we've left..." Mom said. She opened the book and continued the story.

"Each suitor was allowed to enter the great ice palace with the crystal roof, where the Queen's throne stood.... But the second he declared his love and asked for her hand.... thousands of goblins appeared to grasp him and push him over the rocks, down into bottomless abysses.

...Without the slightest emotion, the Queen would watch the scene, her heart of ice unable to feel anything at all..."

While mom was telling the story, I tried myself not to yawn. My eyelids were almost dropping and I fought myself not to sleep, and so I sat up.

"....The legend of the crystal palace and the beautiful heartless Queen spread as far as the most distant alpine valley... the home of a fearless chamois hunter...

Fascinated by the tale, he decided to set out and try his luck. ...Leaving his valley, he journeyed for days on end, climbing the snow clad mountain faces ...scaling icebound peaks and defying the bitterly cold wind that swept through the alpine gullies...

...More than once he felt all was lost, but the thought of the lovely Snow Queen gave him new strength and kept him moving onwards..." Mom stopped reading and suddenly closed the book on her hand. She looked at the person behind Jamailah and glared at him.
