Chapter two

The internal carnation

As the thunder roared through the deep waters of the harsh ominous sea, the wind quickly became stronger. The waves were splashing upon the main deck as the privateers did everything they could to secure the ship. Trying to hold his hat steady, Jack yelled. ''Batten down the 'atches!'' The only light that shined upon them were the moonlight, as their oil lamps slowly died out. ''It's impossible!'' Beamer yelled as he tried to secure the sail. ''They can 'ardly stand!'' Elizabeth had now joined the conversation, hanging from the main topgallant mast. She had a rope tied around her waist, making sure she wouldn't fall if the waves would throw the ship around.

''PULL!'' Standing on the upper deck, Jack pulled the rope, making her float towards the top. Swinging back and forth, Elizabeth slams her body into the mast. Biting the pain in her she tries to reach out towards it. As she finally caught it, blood were dripping from her right side of the head and she had now realized, she had hit her head on the mast as well.
The heavy rain made everything slippery and as the waves hit, the boom got loose. Trying to secure Elizabeth, Jack shouted"Boom about!". It looked as though the crew danced as they tried to avoid a sudden death.

"Cap'n! we can't 'old on much longer!" Beamers voice were filled with concern as he stood at the helm. With her fingers slipping, she secured the topgallant mast's sail. "Get someone to secure the thar she blows, blast away!" Elizabeth yelled as she dangled in the air. Jack slowly got her down. As the boom swung around, Jack pulled Elizabeth in by her waist. Standing inches away from each other they made eye contact. "Hi" She whispered. "The thar she blows, blast away almost got ye there" he whispered back.
''I guess ye saved me life then'' ''I guess so'' Jack gently stroked her back. "I should probably go secure it" she blushed before running towards it. As the boom found its way back she jumped onto it.

Hanging on the side she yelled "Thar she blows, blast away about!" The privateers duck as she flew over their heads. She grabbed onto the sail it were previously attached to with one hand. After what felt like hours; the crew came to help her secure it.
"What took ye so long!" Elizabeth yelled as they tied it up. "I could 'ave been killed!" "Names Branson Captain. 'ave ye spied the deck?" Branson; a charming young lad with an eyepatch, short brown hair and ocean blue eyes.
"I've spied the deck! the thar she blows, blast away could've killed us ye bilge-suckin' landlubber!"

As the rain still poured down she pulled her sword out. "Whow Easy now Lassie!" Jack jumped in front of Branson. "It's a rookie Mistake." "Rookie mistake? ye could've been dead! all o' ye!"
She pointed her sword against Jack's throat. "the lad needs to learn 'is lesson one way or another jack'''.

''Not like this here! this here be inhumane!'' He yelled. ''Now put that there god damn to the depths sword down'' Holding the eye contact, she removed her sword from his throat. " 'e needs proper punishment, savvy?" Elizabeth growled. Jack took his hand out, reaching towards her. "And 'e will. I promise" "Don't promise somethin' ye can't keep" as she walked towards the helm, the privateer from the crows nest yelled.

"Sail, Ho!"

Elizabeth immediately stopped mid-walk. "What ship!?" Jack yelled . Silence struck. Waiting for the answer Elizabeth yelled. "What god damn to the depths ship!?"
"T-The infernal-" "Carnation" she mumbled drifting into thought. "ALL HAND HOY!" Jack yelled. "Prepare Man-O-War!" "What, no?! We be already enough unsteady as it be" "Jack do you trust me?" Elizabeth were now facing Jack, calm as a clam. "I always 'ave" "we need to do man-o-war.. Ye know 'e knows i'm onboard" "ye heard 'er! Prepare for war!" Beamer yelled from the helm.

Elizabeth smiled towards him as the crew emerged towards the equipments. As they pulled the cannons into position Elizabeth held onto the boom. "HEAVE HO" "remember to lock em in!" Beamer yelled as Jack took his place at the helm. "No one would be this here foolish to attack under such a 'eavy storm!" Branson mocked Elizabeth. "Ye don't know the infernal carnation like jack an' I do. They'll avast at nothin'." Branson looked a bit terrified.
