The Kamisato Clan was bound to serve the Almighty Shogun. Not because of their noble blood, but shadows from the past tied them to an enormous debt. This mirage will show you the past of your parents, and how they redeemed you from the curse I made.

Ayato runs inside the Kamisato Estate as he followed the voice echoing in his mind. He entered his office and found no one was inside. There, he noticed something is off. This room is not his usual working place. From the atmosphere and placements, it looks like the office belonged to someone else.

Ever since the Raiden Gokagen incident, your family bears an impossible malediction to fix a lost cause. Generations of Kamisato Clan are doomed to correct a mistake that is not even your own.

He got attracted by a handwriting letter on the table, which is not his, but he knows who's writing is it. Each scratches and ink strikes are similar to his own, as his father once told him, a man's writing reflects his  state of mind. Ayato tried to grab the paper on the table but his hand couldn't grab it. He realized that his physical form is not real.

If there is anything I regret in my life, doing your family a conditional favour was the biggest thing I want to undo. And now I have to live, knowing that I forced your entire family to take an oath that caused this tragedy.

"You can't do this! What about our children? I can't raise them alone!"

Ayato turns to see his parents entered the room. Longing filled his heart as he missed to see them, but the expressions on their face doesn't fit their usual calm upbringing. His father took the letter that Ayato was looking at, and passed him as an invisible being. The grim look in his father eyes could tell that the letter didn't have a good content.

"I have to, and this is our only chance to set them free from the chains that has tied us for generations." His father hugged his mother. As they embraced, Ayato could feel a heavy tug gripping his shoulders. They parted and Ayato knew, that was their last embrace.

"I'll do anything for Ayato and Ayaka so they don't have to live like us. Now, let me go, Kayo. The Shogun waits for me."

Kayo franticly shook her head as she pulled her husband sleeves, but it didn't make him stay "No, please don't go!"

Wooden doors closed the room tightly, leaving Kayo to wept in her silent tears. Her knees become weak and Ayato leaps to grab his falling mother, but a strong force dragged him away before he could even reach his mother.

The unknown force throws him to a surface of high quality tatami. Ayato grits his jaw and he stands to get back to his heartbroken mother, but he found himself already standing in the middle of Tenshukaku's throne room.

His father was standing in front of the Shogun, while the letter that he bought from home is now at the Shogun's hand. Ayato walks closer to hear what are they talking about.

"You think you could repay your past misdeed just by slaying some infidels?" The Shogun winces at the paper on her hand "How preposterous."

Ayato's father fell to his knees and he bows his head lowly "My apologies, your Excellency. I did not mean to offend you, nor forsaking my responsibilities to serve you and this country. But my children takes no part in my family past mistakes and I humbly ask your compassion to spare them."

The Shogun crossed her arms in front of her as her voice remains sturdy "What do you want?"

"Please release my descendants from the weight of the Raiden Gokagen's Incident."
