Drip. Drip. Drip.
A groan left someone's lips as hearing founds its way back to your consciousness magically. Your back was stiff, just like your limps.
Drip. Drip. Drip.
As you slowly opened your eyes, you were met with darkness, confusing you whether you had actually opened your eyes or not. Another groan filled the otherwise silent air. It felt close, too close for comfort. Blood was rushed out of your arms and without thinking, you tried to move them. Statics ran down from your wrists to your elbow and further down to your shoulders, making you whine a little. 'Wait.. down?' You tilted your head up, slightly forgetting about the fear creeping into the back of your head and the darkness holding you in its embrace.
Moving from side to side, rattling cried through the darkness.
"Stop it! He'll hear you!" Someone hissed lowly. It was too low to be the voice of a woman.
"Hello?" You whispered to the only companion you would have in the suffocating darkness.
Drip. Drip. Drop.
"I'm right here, princess." The other voice retorted. He was too far away to even see an outlining, even when you were getting used to the darkness a little. 'Then whose groans did I hear mere minutes ago?' You wondered silently as you looked around, eyeing the cold ground underneath your legs.
A shiver ran down your spine. "Who are you?" You asked, telling you to go along with it for a little, just to make sure you wouldn't go insane.
"Kid."
Silence followed and enveloped the both of you, for as far as you knew. Shuffling could be heard and a sudden shadow loomed out of the darkness of the room. He was further away that you had expected, but his broad shoulders and huge height could tell you where he was perfectly.
"(y/n)." You told him, answering his silent question as you filled the air with just one word.
"How long?"
"Huh?"
"How long did he spend his time with you?" You heard him murmer.
"Uh.." 'How long did who spend time with me?' "Who?"
You heard the male scoff and saw the faint shadow shake its head before sitting back down, his shackles shaking with every move. "Killer." Your sudden silent held on for several minutes as you thought about the answer. 'Kid' hadn't moved and somewhere you had thought he would have fallen asleep by now. Your eyes were directed to the ground once again as tears clouded your sight.
'Stupid. Stupid. STUPID!' You mentally screamed at yourself. 'Why hadn't I flown when I had the chance? Why did I stay instead of run away. I let a murder inside of my house and acted like it was fine! Damn it, (y/n)! How could you be so stupid?'
"Three years."
Your head jerked up at the voice coming from afar. It took you a little time before you understood his words. "Three.. days." You murmered as to answer his question he had asked before. He chuckled and you heard him shift.
"Damn girl. That's fast." He commented and you wanted to sneer at him just as the door creaked open. The light illuminated the dark room just a little and you could see the man in front of you. He was indeed bulky. His fire red hair seemed like burning fire and suddenly you wondered whether it was just as warm.
"Of course that's fast. But she was just too interesting at the beginning of it all." A familiar voice boomed from the opening of the door and you snapped your head to him now. His long blond hair was just as dishevelled as you knew it and his bandana stayed to cover his chin, lips and nose. His piercing eyes eyed you and the stranger carefully.
"OI! Dickhead! Why am I in this mess?" Kid yelled and Killer chuckled from behind his bandana as he closed his eyes and leaned against the doorpost.
"Because I can." He answered, making you shiver at the danger radiating from his voice. "Now.." His feet dragged him to your place and you cowered away as much as you could, hoping to find some safe place against the cold wall behind you. A whimper left your lips as Killer crouched down to your eye-level, grabbing your chin to tilt your head upwards.
Kid's eyes never moved away from your form as he growled lowly. He didn't know you, but somewhere, he felt the need to take Killer's attention away from you. He had dealt with him for three long years after all and you merely three days.
"Hold your horses, Eustass." Killer said as his eyes hold yours in their trance. "We're just going to play a game, aren't we, (y/n)?" His hand wrapped around your jaw, you simply had to nod as a tear spilled itself from the corner of your eyes. "Oh dear, (y/n). Don't cry." His calloused finger wiped away the drop gently as he frowned at you. "It won't hurt.. Much." He grinned and threw you to the side before striding over to the only other person in the room.
"You mother.." Killer kicked Kid in his face before he could mutter the rest of the word he held within his mouth.
"Tch, tch, Kid." Killer wiggled his finger in front of the other male with a grin. "You know the thrill, don't you? It's a simple game and you'll have to play as well. Don't forget."
You closed your eyes tightly and heard Killer's retreating footsteps as he left the room in utter darkness again. His chuckles hung in the air like an echo, never really leaving but fading every time it was echoed again and again.
"What did he mean with 'You know the thrill'?" You asked quietly after waiting for the blond to be far away. Shifting of clothes could be heard once again and Kid sighed loudly before he would answer. You shifted your sight back to the ground before looking around in hope to find something to help you escape.
"I've played his games before." Kid growled. You hummed and finally found something that may help you a little. 'Was that there before?' You leaned forward as far as possible and raised yourself to your knees with help of the shackles around your wrists. "What are you doing?" Kid asked as he heard you rattle the shackles a little too much for comfort as you managed to get up a little.
Stretching one of your legs forward, you tried to curl your foot around the object on the ground and pull it to you. "Just." A grunt left your lips as you tried again as it slipped away on accident. "Getting something from... over there." You muttered and finally reached the object and had pulled it back a little. A squeak of happiness left your lips as the object scraped over the floor and rattled to you.
"What?! No! Leave it laying there!" Kid yelled, making you yelp in surprise and looked over to him while holding your breath. "He placed it there on purpose. He wants you to do something desperate." Kid yelled as he tried to prevent you to take the object from the ground. It was already laying near your feet however and you were too curious. You peaked down after staring at him for a little while and fell down on your knees to investigate it better.
It seemed pointy and sharp for as far as you could see. With a sigh you looked at it with frustration evident in the harsh exhale leaving your lips. Your knees touched the object and with some difficulty you could make out the serrated edge of a saw, cutting through your pants a little as you moved over it. "Damn it." You muttered as a gasp left your chest in surprise.
Kid sighed loudly and shook his head at you. "Kick it back, princess. He will find out you've touched it and you really don't want to know what he's in store for you." The redhead growled to your side of the room before he sat down against the cold wall. "And after that, go to sleep. You can't do anything else before his game will start. You'll need every little bit of energy to face it." Before you could even answer after letting the words sink into your mind, Kid's loud breathing evened out.
You furrowed your brows together and looked around the room once again, even when the dark had consumed it, you wanted to know. Know the mapping as far as possible and you cursed yourself for not thinking about that when light had flooded it before. With a grumble you slouched against the wall and fell on your butt, your arms hanging up uncomfortably.
'Fuck my life.'
