the car ride

  

I open the door to look into the back of Ava's car and look around. I realize that the back seats are all taken by Jordyn, Serenity and Athena. "Uhm, Ava. Everyone's already sitting back here..."
 

"Oh, uh, yeah. My front seat's too messy so just..." Her voice trailed off as she tried to think of how I should sit. "Uhh, just sit in someone's lap."

I sighed and sat down next on Jordyn's lap since she was the closest. Me and Jordyn have not had the best history so this was most definitely awkward. While I was hoping that Jordyn wouldn't try and start an argument later about me sitting on her lap, I was snapped out of my thoughts by Athena and Ava arguing.

"Stop driving so fast!" Athena said, practically yelling at Ava while pointing at her. "Oh, shut up old lady! I'm not even driving that fast you hag." Ava rolled her eyes while flailing one of her arms while keeping one hand on the wheel.

 "Oh my god, shut up you idiots!" Jordyn yelled at both of them. "You're both giving me a fucking headache." I giggled as I watched the situation around me and Jordyn let out an annoyed sigh.

"No, how about you shut the fuck up Jordyn? I mean, have you ever heard yourself talk? Your voice is so irritating." Ava said as she looked at Jordyn through her mirror. It was obvious
"This is why your parents don't love you." Jordyn said blankly and my jaw dropped. I saw Ava's drop as well and before I knew it, Ava had jumped out of the front sea and was tackling Jordyn. 

I was smushed in between them and Athena was trying her best to get into the drivers seat. The car was swerving like crazy and Serenity was screaming in horror. In that exact moment, I saw my life flash before my eyes.  

Some time later...

I woke up and noticed my head was laying on Jordyn's shoulder. I raised my head up and noticed that Athena was driving in the front seat, looking very angry. I looked over at Ava and Serenity who were sitting quietly in the other two back seats.

I decided to not ask Jordyn since she seemed pissed off so I turned to Serenity. "Serenity, what happened? I think I blacked out.."

"Yeah, you did." Serenity said calmly. "Anyway, when you blacked out, we almost hit a car but just then Ava's foot had turned the car just enough to send it spinning. Luckily, we were still somehow on the road. After we had been spun around, Athena pushed Ava into the back seat and took the drivers seat."

"The car went spinning?!" I yelled and covered my mouth once I realized how loud I was being. "Sorry... we went spinning?!" I whispered.

"Mhm! It was super crazy, I thought I was about to black out too." Serenity said. I sighed and turned back to Jordyn, disappointed I had missed out on the car spinning.

"Sorry for falling asleep on you..." I said quietly,  not wanting anyone else to hear.

"It's fine.." Jordyn was looking out the window, she didn't look over at me once since I had woken up. It got kind of awkward so I just looked away.

About 10 minutes later, we entered Ava's neighborhood and Athena spoke up. "Okay you guys, I swear if anyone starts any fights, I'm taking away their phone. I don't care what excuses you have, they're getting taken away if you try and start a fight."

"You're not my mom." Ava said.

"Shut it, your mom doesn't love you." Athena snapped back as she kept her eyes on the road. I heard Serenity giggle beside me and Ava sigh loudly.

A few minutes later, we pulled into Ava's driveway. I quickly got out of the car, desperate to get away from this awkward conversation. I grabbed my things from the back of Ava's car and walked in to Ava's house.
