Y/N hadn't seen or spoken to Eddie and the gang for about four weeks so that was a total of two months— give or take— that she had been without her boyfriend. In hindsight, Y/N knew that what she had said to Eddie the day she graduated was extremely harsh but she wasn't going to apologise for what she said because he deserved every single word that she said to him. In a couple of weeks time Y/N was moving away she had gotten into Yale in Connecticut she had been offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to study there under a scholarship that was going to be paying for her whole time at Yale including accommodation. Y/N didn't have to think twice about accepting the offer because at the time she had nothing keeping her in Hawkins— Eddie was 'dead' and she knew she would have to get on with her life so she instantly accepted the offer, but now, Eddie was alive and although Y/N was still fighting and ignoring him she couldn't just up and leave without telling him. Could she?
Y/N was at work with Steve, Robin wasn't working that day so Y/N was just left with Steve and it wasn't the best atmosphere since Y/N was not only not talking to Eddie, she wasn't talking to the whole gang over the matter, so it made working with Steve and Robin very hard at times when Y/N didn't say a word to either of them.
"When are you going to talk to us again?" Steve asked Y/N and she just ignored him so he huffed "You know you're being stupid right? We all know you leave in two weeks to go to Yale and instead of making memories with us you're holding a grudge. I knew you were stubborn Y/N but I didn't think you were this stubborn." Steve said still trying to get through to Y/N but she carried on ignoring him while she stacked the shelves of new videos. "Whatever carry on being annoyed just know that all of us care about you and we hated lying to you but that's not the biggest issue here right now, the biggest issue is that you're leaving to move over eight hundred miles away and you still haven't told Eddie." Steve said and when he reminded that to Y/N her head looked up a little at Steve who was staring at his friend. Y/N put down the videos and she took off her work jacket slinging it on the counter— she rushed past the counter and out the shop door but she turned around and ran back indoors and placed a quick kiss on Steve's cheek which took him by surprise
"Thank you." Y/N smiled before running out of the doors and she instantly got into her car and sped down the road. Y/N had been searching for Eddie everywhere but she couldn't find him and now she was starting to panic, she had been to Dustin's place and there was no sign, she tried his drug dealers hide out and he wasn't there— she even tried all the places where Y/N and the gang had hidden Eddie from Jason and the basketball team and also from the police who were looking for him. The last place that Y/N tried which in fairness, should've been the first place that she looked and that was Eddie's trailer.
When Y/N pulled up her car outside the trailer she swung open her car door and slammed it behind her before running up the dirt track to get to Eddie's trailer, when she got to the door she opened the door and looked around seeing that most of his stuff had gone, she rushed into his bedroom and seen that he had cleared out his drawers and that's when Y/N started to panic. Y/N rushed out of his trailer and instead went over to Max's trailer that she shared with her mum, she knocked rapidly and frantically on her door and when it opened Max looked surprised to see her.
