"Ocean get your coat" my dad was always bossing me about, I shouted back "why!"
"Because your mother has a doctors appointment" I sighed and got up to get my coat from the back of my door. I opened my door to go downstairs, as I was walking down I couldn't help but notice my mothers face white as if she had seen a ghost, she hadn't seen me yet. The tear rolled down her smooth cheek, she wiped it away with her sleeve. I didn't get it she always seemed like a carefree person and I admired her for that.

I didn't question her on why she was crying I just put my boots on and headed out to the car with my dad. She soon came out and got into her seat at the front of the car, her face still as white as snow. What was they not telling me?

On the way to the hospital there were so many questions rushing through my head; am I too young to know? Was it just to protect me ? Or maybe........just maybe mum was pregnant, but why would she be crying having a baby is supposed to be a happy thing... Right?

To distract myself I decided to look out the window, droplets of rain were racing down the cold glass, the sky was just as gloomy and miserable as the atmosphere in the car.

We finally got to the hospital, it looked as though it was a broken down prison. It was literally scaring me to death. We ran to the doors and sheltered from the pelting rain.

Mum and dad walked straight up to the receptionist and was hot on their heels.

"Ocean can you go sit down please honey" I looked up into my mothers blue sphere and obeyed her orders to sit down. I saw them talk but couldn't here a word they were saying.

I was sat swinging my legs back and forth since I couldn't touch the floor. my mum nodded at the lady and began walking to the double doors, were they just gonna leave me here? Hello I'm only 12.

They opened the door and were stopped by a nurse, I didn't hear him but he looked angry, I didn't like it when he was angry.

"Fine, I'll be here when you come out" he sighed with his hands rubbing his face. he came and sat next to me and I didn't say a word. not one word.

We sat there for ten minutes both worrying about mum until dad began to cry "ocean I will always love you " he slowly moved closer to me as he took a deep breath "where has all this come from"it was bad enough seeing mum crying."your mum has........"he was so upset he couldn't even bring himself to say it but I knew what ever mum had was serious.

Suddenly, mum came rushing through the doors shouting "it's to late Gary the cancer had spread!"dad looked up at her and looked back down again. He wasn't at all surprised , I felt like he knew it was going to happen.
