Dear readers,

Thank you so much for being on the incredible journey with me. It took a long time to write this book, mainly because of other commitments and lack of time. Thanks to you who supported me and gave me the courage to continue. I hoped you liked my book and I hope you'll read my other stories. I already have another idea for a new book which hopefully I'll start soon.

Thanks again

Lexia

Last Chapter

The reunion with my family has been very emotional. We cried as we hugged. Alex was really excited to get to know them, especially his aunt, who showered him with kisses and gifts.

"Are you happy?" She asked me when we were alone in the kitchen.

"Yes, I am. I really missed you." I told her.

"Me too."

"I'm sorry, sis," I said as I hugged her.

"For what?"

"For all the trouble I caused you. I know Bob still comes to bother you sometimes, Mum told me."

Her face changed expression.

"I told her not to tell you anything."

"Is he ok?" I asked, ignoring what she had said.

She shrugged. "No. He will never be. He's still obsessed with you. In fact, to come here without him knowing has been a nightmare. We had to wait for him to go abroad to make sure he wouldn't follow us."

"Oh, my God. What if he hired someone to keep an eye on you? He doesn't work alone." I asked, alarmed.

"I don't think he did, and we took precautions. Cathy, I want you to be very careful. I don't trust Bob, and your life might always be in danger. You should have left him to die when you had the chance."

Although we had lost contact before I escaped with Wayne, I had written a letter to my parents and my sister telling them what had happened with Bob, that Wayne was still alive and that I was going to escape with him. I asked them not to look for me and when it was possible, I would contact them. But first, I had to be sure that we were safe. In the letter, I told them I loved them and that even if with a broken heart; I had to leave them to be with the man I loved. I sent the letter to my old home address, as I didn't know where Bob had sent my parents. I hoped that someday they would see it and it seems they did. Marilyn told me that when Bob got arrested together with Matthew, they could return home. Bob had been in jail briefly while Matthew was sentenced to twenty years for shooting Bob and killing Marcy.

"Maybe, but I'm not a criminal, Marilyn, and I learned to deal with constant danger the moment I met Wayne. I fell in love with a stranger and for some time I have been in the arms of my enemy without even knowing until my enemy turned into my lover. For how long will you stay?" I asked her then.

"I'm not sure. Dad likes it here and Mum, after getting to know her grandchildren, doesn't want to go back. We didn't arrive here today. We've been here already for some time."

"What? He didn't tell me anything."

"Wayne wanted to be sure that no one followed us before we could meet and he wanted it to be a surprise. Dad and Wayne talked for a long time on the phone. And although Dad initially wasn't very keen about your choice, I think he changed his mind. He said he wouldn't mind having a house here."

"Really? So, are you planning to stay?"

"Would it be a bad idea if we did?" She asked me.

"No, of course not, but I don't know. Here there isn't much to do. Dad is retired, but what will you do?"
