So we're doing something I never thought we'd do in my life.

We're breaking into the school.

Dustin, Steve, Max and I are currently walking the halls of Hawkin High School making our way to the counsellors office. Torches in hand, trying to be as silent and quick as possible.

"Dustin, do you copy?" Robin's voice speaks through the walkie.

"Yeah, I copy," he answers with a whisper.

"So, Nancy's a genius. Vecna's first victims date back all the way to 1959. Her shot in the dark was a bulls-eye," Robin replies.

"Okay, uh, that's totally bonkers, but I can't really talk right now."

"Wait, what are you doing?"

"Uh, breaking and entering into school to retrieve some highly confidential and extremely personal files."

"Can you repeat that?"

"Just get your ass over here stat. We'll explain everything."

I just know Nancy and Robin are wondering how we got to this point. But after Dustin told me about his trip into a secret Russian military base hidden under Starcourt Mall, with Robin, Steve and Erica, this seems somehow better in comparison.

"It's this way," Max says, leading us towards Ms. Kelley's office. She unlocks the door and we all pile into the room.

"It's like a mini-Watergate or something," Dustin states as Max starts rifling through the student files. "Hawkinsgate."

"Wait a second, didn't those guys get caught?" Steve whispers.

"Holy shit," Max suddenly says.

"What?" I ask.

"You found it?" Dustin questions Max.

"Yeah, and not just Chrissy's file. Fred was seeing Ms. Kelley too."

Max pulls out both files, sitting at the desk. She opens Chrissy's file and starts reading.

"Can I see Fred's file?"

She flicks through Fred's file, comparing the two.

Then she stops moving. I wonder if she's transfixed on a certain part until I see that's she's frozen. Her eyes blankly staring at nothing.

"Max, what is it?"

"Max. Max!"

"Max, come on!"

"Max?"

I look into her eyes, waving my hand infront of her face. She doesn't react. It's like she's in a trance. Like how Eddie described Chrissy.

Suddenly she snaps out of it, her body jolting. She starts panting, looking around the room in shock.

"Max...Max, are you okay?" I ask.

We hear a noise coming from the hallway, a bang from what sounds like the door we came through earlier, slamming shut. I start to panic, wondering if we were about to get caught, until both Nancy and Robin appear in the doorway.

"What's happening?" they both ask in unison, seeing our worried expressions.

"I heard a ticking and saw a grandfather clock, in the hallway," Max says, still in a bit of shock.

"But you didn't move anywhere. You were right here."

"I don't know how to explain it."

Still a bit shaky and slightly unsteady on her feet, Max gets up from her seated position, pushing the chair back. She grabs her torch from the desk, heading towards the door to the office and into the hallway. She takes a left, followed soon after by a right with us trailing after her. She stops dead in the centre of the hallway, staring towards the wall at the bottom.
