Keeping her promise, whenever her and her husband were too busy Amber would leave Wendy with the Knight family. This routine occurred for months until one day Ester suggested to her husband that she wanted to take in Wendy as their God child.

"My love, I fully agree that we should take Little Wendy as our God Child, but should you not be taking this up with her parents instead?" Brandon, Ester's husband, asked.

"You are right, but what do you think about my suggestion? I know that we only got to know them through a work deal but I truly like their family, they are honest and they don't really care about money. Unlike most people, they did not get close to us just to use us." Ester said, explaining to her husband why she wanted to adopt the child as her God daughter.

"And I know that. Joshua is a genuine man who speaks his mind, there was a time where I said something stupid and he outright told me that my idea was dumb and it would not be amusing to the customers that we are trying to attract. Alright, if you can get the Wu couple to agree to it then I will follow your will and desires." Brandon said.

Meanwhile in the Wu family household an older lady was arguing with Amber about how to raise little Wendy.

"Mom, I know what I am doing. Please back off on trying to lecture me on how I am raising my daughter. Besides, I was only asking you to plan your granddaughter's 6 months celebration, not listen to your lectures." Amber groaned, covering her ears.

"I did not give you a lecture! I was just giving you my opinion," Maria said.

"And you can have your own opinions, but mother let me raise my child the way I see fit. You can just continue to plan the celebration the way you see fit," Amber said.

"Alright do what you want, I will come back tomorrow with the party planner and talk about how big you want the venue to be." Maria said, as she picked up the planner and left.

Coming downstairs Joshua noticed that his mother in law had left, "did your mother leave already? I thought she had many opinions on how we were raising little Wendy."

"You know full well that you were eavesdropping on the whole conversation, do not come down and speak nonsense," Amber replied.

"Alright I was eavesdropping, but not on purpose you and your mother were loud enough for me to hear up stairs," Joshua explained, trying to defend himself.

"Is Wendy asleep?" Amber asked, trying to change the subject.

"She fell asleep the moment I gave her milk," Joshua replied.

"She must have been really tired, we have been so busy with all the new projects that we haven't had time to spend with her." Amber sighed.

"Well that's all behind us, we took the month off to spend with her and gave everyone else a week off to do their own things after all the successful projects. Wendy is truly our lucky star, after she came to us nothing but good things have happened to us." Joshua boasted.

In the middle of the night the Wu couple woke up to the sound of little Wendy crying loudly. Scurrying over to the nursery the couple went to see what was wrong with the child. As soon as she reached Wendy's crib, Amber reached to pick up Wendy but was shocked at how hot Wendy's temperature was.

"Joshua hurry up and get the car ready, we need to take her to the hospital!" Amber stated, clearly anxious.

Following her orders Joshua quickly headed downstairs and grabbed the keys, after grabbing the keys he quickly made his way outside and started the car. Meanwhile upstairs Amber got all of Wendy's things ready and followed Joshua outside to the car.

"Did you grab everything?" Joshua asked, once Amber was strapped into her car seat.

"Yeah, I grabbed everything," Amber urged, "Now hurry up and get going, her fever is getting worse."

Once they arrived at the hospital Amber rushed to grab her child out and headed into the hospital, since it was in the middle of the night there were only a limited number of people in the hospital so it took the doctor a lesser time to see them.

"Wendy Wu?" the nurse called.

"Here!" both Joshua and Amber called.

After being taken into a small room the nurse said, "please wait a moment, the doctor will be here shortly."

Not long after a female doctor came in to check Wendy's situation, "I think we'll have to keep her overnight, I am more worried about her temperature."

"So her temperature is not just a cold?" Joshua asked.

"we'll do some tests and see what is the cause of her temperature, but for now we need to keep her here." Doctor Laura said, while taking a sample of Wendy's blood.

After a moment of waiting Doctor Laura came back with a clipboard, "so the cause of her fever is due to pneumonia, after we give her some antibiotics and her fever reduces you all can leave."

Throughout the whole night Wendy cried due to how uncomfortable she was, but as day break arrived her voice was too hoarse to be audible.

"Good news," Doctor Lura announced, as she entered the room, "little Wendy can leave, her fever has finally broken."

Hearing the good news, Amber was finally able to let her body relax. Soon after they checked out of the hospital and drove home. Once they arrived home Maria was at the door patiently waiting for them to get home.

"How is Wendy?" Maria asked, knowing that they went to the hospital in the middle of the night.

"She's currently sleeping now, throughout the night she was crying." Joshua explained.

"You two must be tired too, go get some rest I'll take care of the rest."

Knowing that Maria had everything under control both Joshua and Amber went up stairs to get some much needed sleep. The couple only woke up later that afternoon feeling refreshed and energized. After waking up they cleaned themselves up and headed downstairs only to see the family speaking with Maria.

"Did you guys get enough rest?" Maria asked, noticing the couple.

"Thanks for looking after her mom," Amber thanked.

"So what brings you guys here?" Joshua asked, getting to the point.

"Me and my wife were wondering if we could make little Wendy our God child," Brandon said, also getting straight to the point.

"I mean... I guess you can, whenever me and Amber are too busy we are leaving Wendy with you, I don't see why not." Joshua answered.

"Josh is right, I also don't see the reason as to why you can not be little Wendy's Godparents." Amber agreed.

At night fall the Wu and Knight family held a giant celebration in honor of little Wendy. They only invited selected family members and all shared an intimate family celebration.

Not far from the Wu family there lived the Mu family, a family of deep rooted history. Inside a dimly lit room there sat a boy who was busy typing on the computer. After about half an hour there was a knock on the door.
