A New Beginning

It was your average, busy Monday in Dusk City. People were crowding the streets, working at their jobs, and sitting down in classes while listening to boring, yet educational lectures. The hands of the clock hit twelve, and that's when all of the students flooded out of the classrooms, excited to eat lunch. In the middle of the cafeteria of Dusk College, was where Andre Wendel and his friends, Quin Martinez, Jack Hellen and Stella Franks, sat.

Andre, a tanned, pink haired boy with blue eyes, spun his noodles in a circular motion. Every word was muffled, his mind was disconnected from the world. He had a lot of thoughts in his head, thoughts that were difficult to explain to his friends or an adult, thoughts that he was too afraid to speak about.

"Andre!" His named was called, snapping Andre back to reality. He felt scared for a second, but realised that it was just Stella. He groaned in annoyance, as he gritted his teeth.

"What?" He asked, rolling his eyes. Stella pointed at the food, with an anxious yet serious look. Andre began eating his lunch. Stella had blonde hair, green eyes and pale ivory skin. She acted like a grandma, commanding her friends to eat their food, and Andre knew if he had disobeyed, she would have made him eat by force. At first, he thought it was a good trait, but over time it became annoying.

"Dude," Jack began as he had a concerned look on his face "You've been spacing out a lot lately, is everything okay?" Andre bit his tongue after hearing that. He felt the need to tell them, but he had bigger plans tonight, a grand exit, and he didnt want any of them on his tail.

"Im fine, Jack. Now, stop worrying."

"You sure?" Inquired Jack. Andre responded with a nod, and an irritated look on his face. Jack had chocolate brown hair, hazel eyes and almond skin. He always cared for others, which was good, but he never cared about his school work, which was bad.

Quin, a ginger haired boy with brown eyes and ivory skin, stayed silent, like always. He was finished his lunch, and was walking towards the bin to dispose the tray.

"You're finished already, Quin?" Stella asked, in a surprised manner. He stopped in his tracks turning around, facing Stella

"Yeah, I am, now hurry up and eat, I want to talk about something other than food." Quin replied.

The others finished their lunch, one by one, and began talking about fantasy books. Their love for fantasy is what they all have in common. A few more students who were interested in fantasy joined the conversation. Then, the bell rang, and lunch time was over. The group separated, walking to their classes.

Time passed, and finally, school has ended for the day. All students rushed out of classes to head home or to after school clubs. Andre waited outside for the rest of the group. He felt like the classes made him age into an old person, but why would he need to pay attention if he is departing from school forever, if he is departing from this world forever? He turned around and saw Stella waving at him, with the others behind her. He smiled. He was going to miss his friends.

"Hey, Andre! We decided that our official hangout will be at Quin's house!" Stella said excitedly. Andre wanted to hang out with them for one last time, but his father's office closes an hour from when school ends, which is 3:00 p.m. He also had to acquire groceries for his mother.

"Sorry guys, I cant come, but I will see you guys later." Andre began walking away from the school, as few drops of tears descended from his eyes. He knew that this will be the last time he saw them.

He entered the house, bags in both of his hands. He took of his shoes and placed the groceries on the kitchen counter. Andre scanned the house to see if his mother was there, and there she was in the dining room, the main beast of his life.

"I got the groceries mom" he grumbled. He didnt want to see her face for one second.

"Not even a hello? Disrespectful as always!" She said, as she signalled Andre to pack the groceries. Andre's mother, Tiana Wendel, had light brown hair, brown eyes and tanned skin. "And can you pack them faster, please? I do not like snails in my house, especially ungrateful, idiotic, fat snails." Andre, began shaking as steam came out of his ears.

"I lost weight, okay! Now, can you stop talking!" Andre shouted furiously. Tiana was shocked about his response. This caused her to walk towards him and pull his collar. Her eyes buldged out, as she tighten the grip on the collar.

"Dont you dare talk back to me!" She boomed loudly. She let go of the collar and slapped him on the cheek in pure rage. "And go kill yourself, because nobody needs you in this world!" Andre had enough of his mother, he had enough of his family. He decided to leave the groceries half packed, and exited the house, slamming the door behind him. He marched on the sidewalk, heading towards his father's office.

He entered the building, and the receptionist was there to greet him.

"Is Tom Wendel still here?" Andre asked. The receptionist responded with a nod, and let Andre into the main office. Near the entrance of the workspace was an elevator. Noticing this, he entered the elevator, pressing floor 10. The elevator door opened as he reached his arrival. Floor 10, the rooftop, was usually used for office parties.

Andre climbed the iron fence, and sat on it. He admired the view and smiled. He stood up and let himself fall to his death. The wind blew through his hair. His, barren, terrible life flashed before his eyes. He heard the screams of passer-bys, and closed his eyes, ready for life to end. The blood began spreading, slowly moving outwards like a monster. It stained his clothes and his hair. Blue and red lights were blinking in the distance as cries and screams were heard.

Andre was falling slowly. Confusion filled his mind, as his body stopped aching. There was an itching on his head as well. This was all so weird to Andre.

"Wasnt I dead a second ago?" He slowly opened his eyes, to see that he was in a different world. There were floating islands with cherry blossom trees, a big chunk of the sky was space itself. On the islands were streams that looked like a galaxy, running down until it reach the floor. The ground below him had flowers everywhere, ponds under the islands and houses. What kind of crazy world was he in? Suddenly, a human with wings zoomed past him, making him startled. He couldnt take it in anymore and screamed, screaming until he reach the floor.

"This must be a dream, right?" He closed his eyes, but when he opened it, he was still in the same place, but someone towered over him. He looked up, seeing the psrson who had red hair, purple eyes, deer antlers and vitilago. The strange man also had deer legs instead of human legs.

"Are you okay?" The strange man asked, lending out his hand.
