A/n: Drawing of Lynn's outfit of the Kitsune Warrior costume up above. I drew it myself. Enjoy!

It wasn't completely uncommon that Lynn was awoken by Ōumi at ghastly hours of the morning, considering most cat-owls are most active at night. The Deity let out a huff as she gave up on sleep entirely. "Ok, ok, alright, I'm up!"

Ōumi let out a satisfied coo as Lynn opened the door. The crew was still asleep, so now would be a perfect time to practice her water bending. She closed her eyes and focused for feeling for fish in the water before bringing it towards the ship in a bubble. Her pet let out a delighted shriek as it divided towards it, only for Lynn to bend the water and the contained fish away. "Oops, guess you'll have to try harder than that!"

Her companion shot her a dirty look before trying again, and to have the water dogged again, this time in a thinner stream. The Deity ignored the guards who were slowly starting to join her on deck until Zuko's unmistakable voice called out "What's going on here?"

Startled, Lynn lost control of the water and the crew let out a groan as Ōumi finally caught her prize.

Iroh smiled good naturally. "Just a bit of fun, dear nephew. Now, shall we start that meeting?"

Usually, Lynn wasn't allowed to join the meetings, so instead she used a little bit of air-bending to help keep her informed. This time, however, she had to hide below deck and had to really strain to listen to what was going on.

Zhao lacked restraint. Aang and the rest of the gang were in trouble if he was truly promoted!

It also ment Zuko would be rage bending again. It wasn't entirely uncommon. In fact, sometimes she would watch on the sidelines in case she ever had to fight him again. Sometimes he even would let her train with him. Today was not one of those days.

No, today Lynn was too busy trying to figure out how to help her brother. It wasn't until she found Zuko trying to sneak out that the Deity realized it might be easier than she thought.

"I'm coming with you!"

"No way! How do I know you won't try to sabotage me?"

Lynn scowled at the prince. "Because Aang's my brother and this would be bad for me too."

Zuko hesitated before shoving a handful of black clothes and a pair of glove into her hands. "Three minutes or I'm leaving without you. Grab a mask, too."

In the end, Lynn decided on a eggshell white kitsune mask with red highlights.

The two teens kept silent as they moved in unison. Getting in was suspiciously easy. She only need to air-bend once, and that was to jump the wall.

Zuko started to run down a hall before Lynn stopped him with a tug on his sleeve. She gestured down a different direction with a quick nod of her head.

It wasn't until they were just around the corner from Aang that they encountered their first foot solider. Before Zuko could do anything, Lynn had knocked him out with air bending and used some water from her pouch to restrain him.

Lynn could feel the Prince's watchful gaze linger for a moment as she used air-bending to send the fire nation helmet go clanging down the hall until it came to a stop at the guards' feet. She let Zuko restrain the first to investigate. By the time the other three came, both teens had managed to hide on the ceiling. They exchanged a glance before letting themselves drop. Three bending moves was all it took.

Lynn used a gust of air to knock the warning horn out of the last look out's hand. The guard sent a fire blast only for Zuko to extinguish it with a bucket of water.

Lynn felt herself properly relax for the first time in weeks as she laid eyes on her brother. Aang's eyes lit up and he tackled her in a hug. "You came back!"

Lynn smiled behind her mask. "Yeah, I did. Let's get you out of here. Also, what's up with the frogs?"

"Katara and Sokka need to suck on them. Who's your friend?"

Zuko and Lynn exchange a look. "Not important right now? Just stay quiet and follow us."

They had almost made it out when the alarm went off. Son of a hog-monkey.

"Stay close to me!"

The two masked teens shared a glance as they ran after the kid. Aang knocked aside the guards with a gust of air. Lynn took in a deep breath as she drew as much water out of the air as possible and added it to the stuff from her pouch and ended up with a very sad, half formed octopus (she only had enough water for three tentacles, but it was enough to cover Zuko.)

Aang used air-bending to throw the fire bender to the top of the wall and Lynn followed with a leap. She jumped from one wall to the next with ease. It was strange having the three of us work as a team, but a good strange, Lynn decided as she knocked out another solider. Normally, she'd feel her heart jump at the mere thought of Zuko holding a sword let alone two to her brother's throat, but now...

Lynn didn't get to finish her thought before Zuko was hitting the floor. She let out a half strangled cry of surprise.

"Zuko?!"

Lynn picked up the unconscious Prince with ease. "Grab his swords and let's go. I'll explain later."

The Deity sighed as she felt the waves of confusion coming off of the Avatar. "Go on then, ask."

"Since when are you and Zuko friends? Does this mean you're coming back?" Aang let out an over-dramatic gasp. "Is he going to be our fire bender teacher?!"

Lynn shrugged. "Friends is a strong word. We have shared interests. I'd love to come back Aang, but I gave him my word. If you ever need me, I'll be there."

"You're my sister, how can you suggest I don't ALWAYS need you?"

She sighed. "Because you don't. I've heard about your travels and you've been handling yourself well. That's not to say I don't want to be there, but..."

"You made a promise."

Aang scowled and Lynn grimaced slightly as guilt worked it's way through her. "Yeah, yeah I did."

The twelve year old threw his arms around her. "I don't want you to go!"

Tears built up in her eyes. "I know Aang, I don't want to go either."

Both teens seemed oblivious to the Prince on the floor who was slowly waking up. He scowled slightly at the sight as something that felt suspiciously like guilt coiling in his gut.

"Then go. The deal's off!" Oh spirits, what am I saying?

He scowled as Lynn squealed and hugged him. "I didn't say you could hug me! Now get out of here before I change my mind."

Zuko watched as the siblings used air bending to make their escape, both shouting their thanks as they left.
