The rival battles will give Sonic a Chaos Emerald if he beats them getting their friend's memories back corrupted by Mephiles and/or the Time Overlord, or by defeating an old enemy.
Emerald Order from rival battles: Green, Purple, Blue, Yellow, Red, Cyan, White
Well the red emerald is collected I think after beating Planet Wisp Zone... I forget since I haven't played in that game in a while.
And the cover page is of a Gjinika style of the Time Eater, but I would use that style with like a dark demon in a black cloak and neck scarf for the Time Overlord's style.
