Megan was an ordinary, happy, teenager. She had friends, she had a boyfriend called Michael and she had a happy home life. Megan was out with her best friend Sophie at Starbucks when she got a text from her mum "Your father and I have something to tell you when you get home." When Megan read the text, she was confused. She didn't think there was anything wrong and she didn't think she had done anything wrong. She pushed it to the back of her mind and contined to drink her Vanilla Bean Frappe. When she got home her mum told her to sit down. "Why?" Megan answered. "Just do as you are told." "Your father and I have decided to get a divorce." Megan's world came crashing down. All she could say was "Why?" "Because," her mother replied "Your father has been cheating on me with someone else." she said giving him an icy stare. "How could you?!" Megan screamed before running up to her room. She flung herself on her bed and started sobbing.

The next day, Megan woke up and tried to phone her best friend Sophie. She never answered so Megan assumed she must still be sleeping. Nevermind, she thought, I will see her in school tomorrow. Megan got out of bed and went into her brother Lukes room. "You alright?" Luke asked. Before Megan could say anything she burst into tears. "Hey, hey" Luke said "It will all be okay" "I hope so" Megan answered. For the rest of the day Megan and Luke sat in Luke's room °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°A week later°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
When Megan went into school, she scanned the playgroud for Sophie and spotted her walking beside the school mean girl, Layla. Megan decide to stay away from them as for some reason Layla didn't like her. Megan started looking for her boyfriend, Michael instead. She spotted him walking in the front gates and ran up to him "Hi Michael!" she said "Alright?" Michael grunted. That was followed by an awkward silence. Megan didnt know what was up with him lately because there was always awkward silences between them. Michael spotted his group of friends and ran off, not even bothering to say goodbye. Megan felt hurt. It seemed that he never had any time now that Michael never had any time for her now, or that he was always busy or uniterested. The bell rang and Megan went to her first class. At lunch, Megan noticed that everyone seemed to be whispering to each other and staring at her. When she was leaving the lunch hall she heard Layla shout, "Fatty!" "Get over here!" The room went quiet and then everyone started laughing. Megan ran out and Layla followed her, sashaying as she went. Megan managed to find a bench and sat down with her head in her hands. She didnt know why Layla had called her fat but then she realised. After her parents announced their divorce she had been eating a lot more recently. Suddenly, a dark shadow clouded over Megan and she realised it was Layla. "Oi Megan didnt you hear me?" Megan looked up. " I have something to tell you!" Megan stood up and looked Layla in the face. "You're so fat, Megan do you know that?" "And it's not just me who thinks so. Isn't that right, Sophie?" Megan looked at Sophie, who looked rather guilty. "I.. I.. I didnt say she was fat, I just said that you were looking a little bigger than usual." she said looking at the floor. Megan started to cry and she didn't want to cry in front of everyone so she suddenly took off running and didnt stop until she got home.
