As Amber and my family had dinner downstairs, I stuffed my necessities into a duffel bag and my backpack.

"Y/N! Come eat before your food gets cold!" My mother's muffled voice came through the door.

"NOT HUNGRY MOM!" I shouted back.

As I zipped close my bag, Amber walked into the room.

"Do my parents know yet that I have been called to the office?" I asked, turning my back to her once the door was closed. "Did the school let them know anything?"

"No. They just asked me to tell you to meet the principal first thing tomorrow morning." Amber walked past me to her bag and started taking out her books.

"Do you know what happened to Luna?" I asked her.

"I didn't see her at school. The teachers were looking all over school for the two of you." Amber informed me as she sat down and opened her books.

"Okay." I picked up my phone and house keys and walked down to the living room where my parents were watching a show.

"Hey Y/N! Want to join us?" My mother asked eagerly.

"... Yeah. Give me a minute." I smiled and walked to the bathroom in my parents' room.

Making sure that the door was locked behind me, I dialled her number and prayed she would pick up.

Within two rings she was breathing heavily on the other side. "Y/N?"

"Where are you?" I could feel my heart beat faster.

"In our spot." She said calmly.

"Have you been there the entire day?" I held my phone with both my hands.

"Yeah. I was too afraid to leave. My mom left me some voice messages and I don't she wants me at home." She said, her voice staggering as she spoke.

"I'll meet you there in about an hour. Okay?" I pressed my lips together. "Do you have a favourite dinner dish? I'll stop by a restaurant before I come."

"I like pizza. Pepperoni." I could hear her smile lightly at the other end.

"Okay. I'll see you at 9:30. I just need to tie up some loose ends. See you, Luna."

"What are you up to, Y/N?" She enquired. I heard she stand up on the other end.

"Right now? Just saying my goodbyes." I replied, feeling the air drain out of my lungs.

"Ha ... okay. See you. Bye!" She said.

Neither of us seem to be able to hang up. I didn't want time to march forward like this. I wanted to stay in this comfort life but it was chipping away at an alarming pace.

"Bye." I hung up and stood in the room for a second to collect myself. Will they miss me? Will they cry for me? Or will they desperately try to brush away all of it like when Alexandra left?

I walked out and joined my parents on the couch, laughing with them till the show ended in thirty minutes. I said my good nights and kissed them goodbye. I wasn't ready to let this go but what are my options?

I waited ten minutes seated on the stairs till I heard soft snoring from their room. Trying to stay light on my feet, I walked up to my room.

Amber was on the bed now, reading her English textbook. I picked up my duffel bag and backpack and turned to her. "I would like to stay in touch." I didn't know how to say goodbye.

"Oh? Okay. I guess we can." She moved her book to hide her face. Her voice was faulty. Nothing like her usual jolly pitch.

"We don't have to if you don't want to. I understand, I mean I'll try to understand." I stood facing the door. "I really care about you. You are a big part of my life. I am sorry if-" I shook my head. "I am sorry that I hurt you. I hope it was nice while it lasted."

"So you won't fight for me?" She let her eyes peek over the book.

"I don't think I have the right to. Not while I am still the mess I am. If you keep a little place open in that heart for me, I'll fight for you if you let me see you again. Is it going to be a volleyball game?" I smile at her.

"No, it's a short story competition." She dropped her book and sat up. Her figure was fuller since the first time I saw her. Her full cheeks hid her pretty eyes when she smiled. The way she leaned on her arm made her look like the muse of a renaissance painter.

"Okay, I'll be prepared when you show up at my door." I opened the door.

"Is that an invitation?" She asked in a hushed tone.

"You don't need one." I stepped out as I looked at her one last time before I closed the door.

I tip toed down the stair and along the hallway to the front door. As I locked it behind me and stepped onto the sidewalk, I looked up to the window of my room. Her silhouette was sharp behind the curtain.

I adjusted my bags and started walking towards the restaurant right outside our campus. I got the pizza and walked to the side of the walls around our campus. The wall was low enough here for me to jump over it after throwing my bags over. I landed right behind the auditorium. I collected all my things and walked towards our spot.

I knocked and told her that it was me. She hastened and opened the door. Her eyes were red shot and her hair was tied up in a really messy ponytail. She stood still as I walked in.

"Here is the pizza, I am sorry if it's squished." I put down my bags and closed the door.

She put the pizza down and hugged me tightly. I leaned into it and patted her head. She burst into sobs and squeezed me tighter. As her sobs subsided, my stomach grumbled.

"Sorry I haven't had dinner yet." I tried to stay jolly.

She stepped out and sat down next to the pizza. I joined her as she opened the box. She pulled out a slice and brought it up to my lips.

I smiled as I bit into it. The cheese got on my cheeks as I kept taking bigger bites.

"Hey! I was supposed to get the second bite. I was trying to make it romantic!" She pulled away the slice.

"I thought you said the party was the last time." I joked and wiped away the grease on my cheeks with the back of my hand.

"Right..." she face fell as she bit into the pizza.

"Sorry I just don't see you that way." I said as I grabbed another slice.

"How do you see me?" She asked between bites.

"As a hot girl I am alone in an abandoned storeroom with." I said before stuffing my face.

"What sounds romantic." She commented as she grabbed her next slice.

"No. It's just horny." I said bluntly.

"You are being weird." Luna said as she laughed.

"Damn, you must be right. Everyone keeps telling me that." I smiled.

I am finally back from hiatus to complete this story.

Thank you so much for reading.

Hugs and kisses from Cheonsa.
