I set down my last box on the floor, looking around at the dorm. I'd being staying here until summer, and then I'd have to go back to my parents' house. It was nerve-wracking, being here. I had only gotten out of highschool a few months ago, and I'm surprised I had gotten in. I knew no one, seeing as the campus is in an entirely different state. I had gone from Texas to California, so it was far from my home. The drive was a couple of days long, so I was tired. My roommate hadn't come yet, so I decided to sleep while it was quiet.

I woke up to the sound of a glass breaking and someone cursing. Sitting up, I saw my, presumably, roommate standing over a broken glass, which I had assumed he had dropped after taking it out of a box. We made eye contact, and his eyes, wide with fear, searched my face for anger or some sort of outrage.
"Sorry. I was trying to get everything out of my boxes and then it slipped"
"S'alright. What's your name, roomie?"
"Scott."
"Nice to meet you Scott, my name's Levi, Levi Conifer."
"Your last name is a tree?"
"Surprised you'd know that."
"Well, tree-boy, hope to get along with you this year."
"Same goes to you"I smiled, happy with the nice, short conversation. I rolled off of the bed, deciding to make myself of use and put away my things. Scott seemed nice, maybe a bit of a teaser, but nice. I hoped for him to be a future friend. As I opened boxes, putting decorations up and spreading out my comforters, I decided to make a bit of light conversation. "So, Scott, where're you from?" I slid my pillows into their cases, raising an eyebrow even though he couldn't see my expression. "I came here from Carolina," he answered my question briefly, "Which one?" I asked, and he replied with "North."
I finished with my bed, and pinned a poster of an anime that I enjoyed over it. It was simply a Jujustu Kaisen poster, but Scott seemed to show interest.
"You watch anime?"
"Yeah, have since I was in middle. You?"
"Huh. I've watched a few, yeah. Not many though."I nodded, most of the people that I get along with seem to like anime as well, so I felt it was a good sign. "What animes have you seen?" I pulled over the box full of my pants and a few shirts, pulling them out and folding them neatly on my bed. "Just the mainstream ones, you know, Naruto, My Hero, excetera," I'd have to introduce him to some more, if he'd put up with it. I started putting away my pants into the dresser that was provided, my jeans into the bottom, sweats and shorts into the middle, and I left the top empty so I could put away my boxers later. I heard Scott's voice,
"You never said where you came from?"
"Small town in Texas."
"Oh so I'm livin' with a Texan? How's the heat?"
"Tolerable."He laughed, dimples showing on his face. I guess I haven't exactly described Scott. He had light brown hair that fell just above his chin and curled slightly, along with vibrant green eyes and light freckles. He was fairly tall, maybe around 6', and he was lanky. He had what someone would call a baby face, making him look more like a highschool softmore than a college freshman. Now, his style contrasted his face greatly. He had a black t-shirt on that said metallica, and dark blue jeans with a chain hanging off of them. Black and white vans poked out of the bottom of the jeans, and he had several rings, chains, and a colored bracelet. I was more of a Green Day person, but alright.
I had nearly finished putting my clothes away, putting my shirts, hoodies, and jackets onto hangers and hanging them in my half of the closet. I set my few pairs of shoes below my shirts, on the floor of the closet. I sighed when I walked out, stretching. Scott looked over to me when I did, smirking. "Tired, are we?" I rolled my eyes playfully and walked over to my bed, plopping down on it. "Yeah, it was a long drive. I'm fucking exhausted," I sighed dramatically, laying back in the neatly spread bed. "Tell me about it. I drove here from Carolina. Took serveral days."
I made an 'oof' sound and left it at that. It was starting to get dark and I'd have to wake up early the next day to start classes. Orientation had already happened the month before, so I wouldn't really have to deal with that. Just classes. I was lucky enough to only have one in the morning though, so I could come back and nap. Oh how I love naps. And food. I sat up, realizing that I was starving.
"You wanna order pizza?"
"Is that even a question, tree-boy?"I smiled and opened up my phone, it was a piece of shit, but it worked. I called the nearest dominoes and ordered a large pizza, and an order of garlic knots. They'd deliver it because it was on campus, so all I had to do was wait.
The pizza came and we ate, discussing which classes we had. I was majoring in coding and graphic design, as Scott was an English major. We had a few basic classes together though, we'd be together in math, science, and language, so I had those classes to look forward to.
We finished the pizza and decided to sleep, since we both had classes early the next morning.
