Here is where this story ends. But one's end is another's beginning. I am sure the author of this story will make a sequel. He just has... Some problems with the title... Now, if you would be so kind as to support the author, I'd greatly appreciate it. He works hard to get a chapter out, you know. I've said enough, now enjoy the rest of chapter 13.
Drail wondered if everything that happened up to this point would've been completely different if he chose another star. Constellations Slide was told to be able to give the caster anything they want. But the catch is that it is random. You'll never know what you'll get. But you sure will get something you like. Drail is confused as to how this world is something he liked.
Dotto kept playing with his ears which made his ears flinch frequently. Drail greeted Dotto with coffee and bread whe he woke up and have been there ever since.
"Could you please refrain from toying with my ears?" Drail politely asked.
"Aand what if I say no?" Dotto smirked. Steam puffed out of Drail's nostrils.
"Your precious head would be in my maw." He replied, politeness was thrown out of the window. Dotto gulped and backed up a bit. "... I was merely jesting. Just don't play with my ears for too long."
"Ahh, h-haha funny, yeah..." Dotto warily went back to fondling his ears. Dire entered the bedroom and sighed.
"August ruined another room, Human." He announced. He had bags under his eyes.
"Um, ok so don't think about August for now. Just think about sleep and bed." Dotto patted the other side of the bed. Dire slowly made his way to the bed. He laid down and started lightly snoring shortly after. "Well, I better check on August. You'll be fine here right?"
Drail nodded his head. "I'll stay here to make sure Dire doesn't wake up. You go ahead."
Earlier...
Dire saw August making an artistic mess in the kitchen. "I believe you'll be cleaning this later, no?"
"Mmm... Depends if it turns out horrible or great." August smirked. She put her paintbrush down and stretched. "I'm getting impatient."
"I know. Just... Give me more time-"
"No. We were given a job. You were given a partner so even if you got sentimental, your partner would've carried out the task." Dire has never heard August speak so serious before.
"But... You just have to understand what I'm going through. I can't- I can't just lose his trust just like that." Dire looked down. He's conflicted about who to please. Drail or Chimera? He wants to make everyone happy. It's a childish goal, yes. But it is his goal.
"Well, you can remain all sad and such there. I will complete this mission today. Feel free to participate." August disappeared in a flash of light and colors. Dire sighed, rubbing his eyes.
Back to the present
Dotto went to the kitchen and was greeted to a collage of gold, lime, and scarlet. "August?" No response. Suddenly, the paint engulfed Dotto, wrapping him around colors. He struggled to move but then he landed on grass. He was greeted by August who looked at the sunset with crossed arms.
"Ah, I didn't expect you to be the one I'd get." August seemed more serious. Her tone showed no interest nor character.
"August! Hey, what're you doing all the way out here?" Dotto got up.
"I'm... Just preparing something, you needn't worry."
"Oookay? Well you made a mess in the kitchen and I just wanted you to know that you're cleaning."
"Ah, right. I'll do that later." August looked at Dotto with regretful eyes. "I don't think I'll ever meet someone with such artistic views like you ever again. So, I am terribly sorry." A gold paint spear formed around her hand and she prepared to throw it.
"Wh-what..?" Dotto realized what was going to happen next and ran to the nearest tree. August threw the spear and the trees shattered, sending Dotto flying. He landed with grunts and groans, blood trickling down his head. It felt so painful Dotto couldn't even think straight. August approached with sadness in her eyes.
"And I thought you would've put up more of a fight." August made another golden spear. And aimed for Dotto's head. She stopped, then jumped backwards, as something fell in front of Dotto.
"So... you were the enemy all along." Drail growl-muttered. August chuckled.
"Enemy? No, I'm simply doing my job." She threw multiple spears, each a different shade of gold. Dire deflected these with his great sword and lunged for August.
August leaped and threw a bunch of colorful blobs. They latched onto Drail's arms and made them extremely heavy. He dropped his blade and knelt.
Dotto started to make sense of what was happening. Dotto tried to get up, he slowly but surely did. He saw August who was about to hit Drail with something. He didn't know why Drail wasn't blocking but he knew he had to intervene. He took a step forward, then ran, then full-on sprinted gathering both Wind and Space Energy in his fist. He screamed at them.
The both of them looked at him and August reacted too late. The punch landed on her knocked her flying into the sky. She stabilized herself by making a mirror platform. "Splendid power! And what might that be called?" She asked, eager to know.
"It's called Neptune Divinity." Dotto wiped his lips. In all honesty, he just made it up at that moment. But it made sense and sounded cool. Drail was able to remove the blobs from his arms and grabbed his sword.
"Tch, I have not time for games, August. Te-" Drail was cut short when August appeared from behind them.
"And neither do I." She knocked both Drail and Dotto back. "Reality Bend: Taurus Aurkin." The world turned gold, the sun was huge, everything seemed to be made of paint.
"The fuck's a Reality Bend?" Dotto asked.
"It is a special spell where you alter your surroundings to fit your needs perfectly. Meaning you can manipulate anything within the bent reality." Gold crystal chains and hands appeared from the trees and ground, encasing the two of them. August approached Drail with a black orb in her hands.
"How... How do you have the Conceot of The Cosmos?" Drail asked, bewildered.
"Well, I have my ways. So goodbye to your friend here~" Both Drail and August disappeared in a black flash, leaving Dotto there. Nothing was left, it was as if nothing ever happened.
"Drail...? Drail!" Dotto kept calling out, trying to find him. He decided to ask Dire for help.
"C'mon, stupid spell, work with me here..." Dotto thought about his house hard enough. He closed his eyes and the next thing he knew, he was back at home. The Golden paint in the kitchen was gone. Everything felt... normal.
"Dire!?" Dotto blasted open the door to his room, he saw Dire staring at the floor from the bed. "Dire! Thank goodness, A-August was... A-a-and Drail..." Dotto sat down on the floor and regained his breath.
"She took him, didn't she..?" Dire looked a Dotto. He lookes miserable. "I lost him again... And it's because of me..." Dire covered his face.
"What...?"
