A news report is seen on a older model TV seemingly in the middle of a story
Reporter: It seems the most recent survivor of one of these games named Katie Adams has come forward about her experience. This is the third supposed survivor in the last month to come forward despite any blackmailing that had occurred. This is a ongoing story and investigation and all updates will be reported here on SNN 24/7.
James walked into the room with his plate of waffles to catch the end of the story as he sat down in his dim and old apartments living room.
"It's been 2 years and I have no new leads on these games. Clearly the authorities haven't done a thing despite multiple people coming forward. Despite contacting each person publicly connected to these games they are either too traumatized to open up or do not want to risk their families or their own lives which I fully understand. Maybe I should just give it up and just live the rest of my life a rich, but depressed and lonely man."
James scratched his growing beard and got up to go to his small bathroom, looking into the mirror at his worn sad expression before hearing his phone ring. Picking it up, he sees the name of his mother, Liza. He answers the call as he goes to put his dirty plate into the sink.
James: Hi ma! What's going on?
Liza: James. My baby are you ok?
James: Yeah ma I'm fine. Why did something happen?
Liza: It's on the news about some Katie girl. I was concerned since she was in one of those games too.
James: I'm ok ma. I'm just trying to live my life after all of that went down.
Liza: Are you sure? You're still going to therapy right?
James: Yes ma every week on Tuesday *turning to his calendar to see his next appointment is tomorrow*
Liza: Ok that is good. Well I'll let you go now. Make sure to visit next week for Halloween.
James: I will ma. I love you.
Liza: Love you two sweetie.
James hangs up the phone and turns back to his tv to see the new story.
Reporter: We have a exclusive breaking story! Someone who worked for the group behind these games has anonymously come forward with proof he worked for them and is now preparing to go fully public and speak in the downtown area of the small seaside town of Portsmith. We have a reporter on scene waiting to learn more.
"I have to go to this if I want any chance of stopping these games. Downtown is only a ten minute walk so I should at least catch most of the speech."
James quickly throws on whatever clean clothes he has ending up in a white t shirt, grey sweatpants, and a brown coat he throws on as he leaves his apartment.
Arriving in the lobby he quickly says goodbye to the sweet old lady at the receptions desk and exits into the cloudy morning sky towards downtown.
