Y/N Pov

After dodging the crowds and making our way out of the ballroom, Draco led me by the hand up a narrow spiral staircase. I ended up just taking my shoes off in the end, I gave up trying to look graceful and ladylike.

Draco laughed at my defeat, "Don't worry, you'll get used to it eventually."

I rolled my eyes and disbelief and we carried on up the stairs. I couldn't help but wonder how many other girls he'd brought up here, must be millions. Ew, what if he's brought Pansy up here?

I managed to push that out of my mind though when we reached the top of the staircase. There was a small step ladder up to the very top. Once again, in his gentlemanly manner, Draco hopped up first and helped me up after.

I think I actually audibly gasped at the view we were faced with. It was beautiful. There was a lake stretching out for miles in front of us. The water glistened with every ripple and movement of the stars. It was dark, I could only just make out Draco's features in the moonlight.

"Come, sit." He said, patting the ground next to him. He sat precariously at the side of the tower, his feet dangling over the edge. I nervously stepped over, trying my best not to look down. I sat down beside him, slightly comforted by his relaxed position.

Draco presented a bottle that he'd swiped from one of the tables earlier and took a swig. He offered it to me and I did the same. I had no idea what it was, it could have been poison, but I trusted him. God knows why.

We sat in silence for a while. Not awkwardly though, just quiet.

"You're a lot quieter than I thought you'd be." He spoke. I could feel him staring intently at me but I kept my eyes on the water and smiled.

"Really? Do I look loud?"

"Well, no but you're gorgeous. Normally gorgeous people have ugly personalities."

"Woooow, smooth." I rolled my eyes in sarcasm and reached for the bottle again.

He laughed and sat up slightly.

"No! I'm serious! Like Pansy. She's hot, like really hot." I couldn't help but agree slightly. "But, she's a bitch."

"Really??" I said acting as shocked as I could for such an obvious statement.

He laughed again. Every time he laughed, it shot a rush of serotonin up my spine. He had such a pretty laugh. I wanted to trap it in a bottle and keep it on my highest shelf.

"I know, shocker right?" We both giggled like little kids, it felt good, comfortable. "But no, you're not a bitch. Surprisingly."

I jokingly looked at him slightly offended. "You look like a bitch."

"I- fuck you!" He playfully punched my arm

"Ow!" I overdramatically grabbed my arm in 'pain'.

"Aw, I'm sorry!" He said sarcastically. But then he moved my hand away from where he hit me and kissed it, looking back over the water and laughing.

He intertwined our fingers and moved closer to me, resting his head on my shoulder. His manner and energy seemed to completely switch for a moment. He seemed happy and comfortable. He relaxed further into me and I kissed the top of his head, resting my chin where I left my kiss.

I felt like I was in a movie scene. Everything was perfect. The stars lit up the sky in patterns and swathes of moonlight lined all the ripples in the water beneath us.

After a while, I decided to break the silence.

"What time is it?"

He lifted our arms to show me his watch. It was almost exactly midnight.

"What time is it?" He asked, lifting his head and sitting up.

"Almost exactly midnight."

"Ugh, we should probably go. No doubt Blaise is on his way up here with some girl he's found."

I laughed and we both got up. I picked up my shoes and started heading back towards the staircase but he stopped me. He grabbed my arm and spun me back round. We were now stood only a centimetre apart. He moved his hands down to my waist and stepped forward to close the gap between us. I moved my hands up his chest to his shoulders, clasping my hands by the back of his neck. He leant down to kiss me. My heart was racing and electric butterflies shot through my entire body.

"Draco?" Someone shouted from behind us. I spun round and Draco lifted his head, keeping his hands firmly on my waist. The person stepped forward. It was, unsurprisingly, Blaise, with a petite blonde following closely behind.     Draco rolled his eyes and bent down to pick my shoes up. On his way back up, he whispered in my ear, "Told you so."

I couldn't help but laugh slightly, Blaise didn't see though, it was too dark.

"We were just leaving." Draco stepped forwards and gestured for me to follow. As we got close to them, Draco nudged the girl Blaise was with.

"Good luck, he's very high maintenance."

Blaise pushed him jokingly, "Shut up, Malfoy."

They both laughed and Draco carried on to the staircase. I smiled at the girl and followed him down the staircase. When we reached the bottom, he grabbed my hand again and led me out of the doorway. We were back in the main ballroom. There seemed to be a lot more people than there was before, the music was louder and people were laughing and chatting over it.

We dodged through the crowds to the other side of the room. There was another small doorway. Draco dragged us into it and shut the door. He pulled me closer and revealed a small pendant out of his shirt. It was looped around a thin silver chain. I think it was tigers' eye, I couldn't really see it. He clasped his hand around it and whispered a spell. Ah, it's a portkey.

We instantly reappeared in a dimly lit corridor. I noticed a Slytherin crest on the wall and figured we must be in the common room. Draco let go of me and turned to face the door behind us. He unlocked it and stepped in.
