Enmei

It was the main reason he was so happy today that he grinned all day, even after receiving the worst mathematics mark ever for his pop quiz. He wasn't bothered by his academic performance today; he was at the top of the world with the new invitation card.

He was sitting in class, pen in his hand but he couldn't focus.

His mind was racing after he read the email from the company. They want him to be a trainee in their company. They are planning to debut a co-ed idol group; not many can pull this off and they need someone who is up to it.

Enmei turned to his best friend who was reading a comic behind a science book. Maybe he could feel the excitement that he turned.

"What?" Hun asked, his eyes watered by the boredom.

"I got in!"

"For?"

"TCND Production,"

"Huh?" Enmei rolled his eyes.

"The thing I told you before!" Enmei leaned forward, his hand cupping Hun's ear. "They accepted me to become a trainee,"

"What?" Hun's eyes became wide. Enmei nodded excitedly. "I don't think the results are this fast,"

"They are planning to debut a co-ed group,"

"Co-ed?"

"Hun!" Enmei pinched his friend's forearm. He was so thick he wanted to punch it out of him. "Girls and boys in one idol group. This is a breakthrough," Hun chuckled.

"You know how girls are..."

"No, I don't know, but I know this Hun, I'm going to be an idol in that group!" Enmei almost punched the air, but Hun caught his fist prior to it. He didn't want their classmates to divert their attention to them. It was a nuisance that Enmei was popular in class, and he practically shined when they walked through the hallway – he was always the star of the show.

Hun watched Enmei as he animatedly talked about his dreams of becoming an idol.

It had always been Enmei's dream, and he would always be there to support him. He had always been on the side, watching Enmei from a far, as he's satisfied to be just that.

"When will it start?" Hun and Enmei walked to their bicycle.

"Next week."

"Good, the sooner it starts, the sooner I'll get rid of you," Enmei pouted. Hun laughed; he didn't really mean it of course.

"Do you hate me so much that you want me away?" Enmei threw his school bag into the bicycle's basket. "I'm still going to school, for God's sake!"

"Doesn't stop me from hoping,"

"Tease!" Enmei playfully punched his best friend's chest. "Even when I'm training, I'm going to disturb you," he mumbled.

Enmei looked up and watched Hun staring at him. He blushed, he wasn't sure why Hun's gaze was intense.

"Are you okay being alone there?"

Enmei bit his lower lip.

It will be fine.

This is his dream all along, and it's going to come true if he get through with it.

It will be fine.

But he's nervous. He's nervous that he would make fun of himself like he always do, just like when he was at school. It was always him who was the star of the show, the highlight of the day but it was always with Hun by his side.

He let out a small sigh.

Hun watched as Enmei tried to gather his strength again, he could read the building anxiety in Enmei. He knew the boy so well like the back of his own hand.

It will be fine.

"I don't mind if you ask me to accompany you there," said Hun. Enmei's cheek reddened.

Why was it that he was so predictable?

It's eerie how Hun really knows him.

"I don't know Hun. I'm terrified that I will not make it."

"You will." Hun smiled, and Enmei's heart blossomed. His smile was his strength.

"I've been watching and being auditioning, ambitious all my life to be an idol but when I have the chance to do it, I..."

"You will make it. I know."

"I will?"

Enmei bit his lower lip and watched Hun walking along side his bicycle. He would want to stay this way forever, just walking side by side with Hun.

"Don't really think about it. Being an idol is what you strive for your whole life. You can't just back out now like an idiot."

"I'm not an idiot." Both of them laughed. "Umm...yeah okay, maybe I'm an idiot. I shouldn't have this fucking dream,"

"Language."

"Sorry."

"Yeah, but it's good to be an idiot for what we worked for. Nothing wrong with being motivated, it's wrong not to act on it," Hun reached out and held Enmei's hand. Enmei didn't expect it, but he was pleasantly surprised.
