Sonic felt like they were being watched. Lancelot had this feeling too, and they unsheathed their sword.
"Whoever's there," they called out, "show yourself." A head poked up, then a second, then a third. The rogues. But it was this world's version of them. They seemed like they had been living off of minimal supplies.
"Y'know, the others would be going crazy over Sonic being alive right now," this world's Jet spoke, "but I can tell you guys aren't from here. Especially the knight dude. Or are you not a dude? You can never tell." Lancelot hummed and re sheathed their sword, staring at the three.A coo distracted them however, and they turned to look at Terra, who was gazing curiously at this world's rogues. Jet raised his head from Terra's embrace and stood up, looking at the other rogues. The other rogues looked at Terra and gasped, leaping out of hiding and running toward it.
"OI! GET AWAY FROM—" Jet was going to yell at them, but he noticed what they were doing and stopped himself. They were embracing Terra tightly and... crying."Oh Terra..." this world's Wave sobbed, tightening her grip, "I know you're not from here but we missed you so much..."
"It's better than nothing, huh...?" this world's Storm managed a weak smile, though his tears got the better of him. Storm looked at his other worldly clone. He did look like a father as well. Maybe it was just... meant to be? But then he looked at this world's Wave and his heart ached. She looked just as beautiful as the moment he lost her... This world's Jet looked up at the other Jet and wiped away his tears.
"I'm sorry," he apologised, "But... after Eggman killed Sonic, we've been trying to fight back. Terra was protecting all of us. But... Eggman found out that... there are certain things that can kill a god..." Jet's eyes widened. His throat caught and he was rendered speechless. Terra could die...? No. He wouldn't let it happen. Not to them.Stepping forward, he grabbed Terra's wrist and pulled them out of the hug, holding it close to his body. No words were needed, this world's rogues got the message. If they could not protect their own Terra, they weren't trusted around another. Jet's beak nuzzled into Terra's feathers, as he just wanted to be close to his sibling right now. The other rogues looked dejected, but they understood why he was so protective. If only they were protective enough...

"So I'm looking for a pigeon who is around 2 feet tall with a turquoise scarf," Vera repeated the information she had received, poking the spikes on the back of her gloves, "That is correct, no?" Mephiles nodded his head, sitting in a chair with Infinite in his lap, his head nuzzled into his neck as the hedgehog stroked his locks. Starline was hugging his partner tightly, pressing kisses into her chest as she chuckled. "I shall return as soon as the system is placed, mi corazon, I promise." She knelt down and embraced her girlfriend in a kiss, and he fluffed up her chest fur happily.
"Why can't she just take me?" Exie huffed, "I'm starving over here!"
"Because your presence will only alarm them, and therefore send them packing before we can even get a follow on them," Vera responded after pulling away from her girlfriend's lips, "They don't know who I am, so I shall go on my own." Exie would have protested, but he just growled and turned away. He was too hungry for this. He hovered away silently, on the search for something to fill him for now.Vera stood and adjusted her hairtail, outstretching her hand and opening a rift. She looked back at Starline and gave him a wink. "Hasta la vista, cielo," she purred, Starline letting out a laugh at her farewell.
"I'll see you tonight," he responded in the same tone. Vera smiled, and she stepped through the rift. The platypus sighed lovingly. "I love that possum..."
"She definitely tops you, huh?" Infinite remarked. Starline did not react.Vera stepped out of the rift, dusting off her hands. It was more or less a habitual gesture, as she had nothing on her hands.
"Está bien," she spoke to herself, "es hora de ir a trabajar." Her tail swung behind her as she walked around the wrecked town, spying in the distance a base similar to that of a theme park. Seems it belonged to Robotnik. He was always a weirdo, tried stealing her once. But luckily Starline was there, and that just paved the way for their romance. He was a charming lady. Sadistic, unhinged, beautiful. All she loved in a romantic partner. He always knew how to make her smile with his little deeds. He slit throats with such precision every time, he stabbed hearts much like he stabbed his way into her own heart. Every time he looked at her with those same loving eyes, it just made her want to scoop him up and hug him. He was perfect, he was adorable. The world's most adorable little murderer. Her heart, her soul (if she had any of those).
