Tony's POV
"Jarvis do a scan of the room."

Jarvis did as he was told, replying quickly.

"Sir there is a mechanism behind the wall to your left."

I grinned like an excited child, pressing up against the wall.

"Please be a secret door, please be a secret door..."

I pressed a brick, feeling it move back.

The wall opened to another room.

"Yay!"

I walked inside, not bothering to do a life form scan.

There was one of the Chitauri's giant flying war slug things, along with many of the regular warriors and technology.

Just as I was examining one of the guns, my brain became fogged, and when I blinked, the Chitauri war slug was flying at me.

I hit the deck, avoiding its jaws. When it flew away I jumped to my feet, looking around.

I wasn't in the room anymore.

I was in space.

How the hell am I not dead?

"Tony..."

I spun around as I heard Y/N's pained voice.

"Y/N?"

Every one of the Avengers lay on the ground or on a boulder.

Dead.

Y/N was barely alive, a stab wound to her stomach and several deep cuts all over her.

I sunk to my knees beside her body on the floor, bringing her head onto my lap.

"You,"

She winced in pain.

"You could've saved us."

"You could've saved us..."

I brushed a few strands of hair away from her beautiful E/C eyes, tears filling mine.

"You could've but you didn't..."

"Why didn't you save us?"

"Why didn't you save me?"

My heart shattered.

"I'm so sorry Y/N, I should've saved you, I'm so sorry!"

I leaned down and rested my forehead on hers as it grew cold, the last bits of life leaving her.

"I'm so sorry..."

Everything disappeared, and suddenly I was back in the room.

"Y/N!!"

"Yo Thor you seen Tony?" "He should've been back at the meeting point by now."

Thor shrugged, turning back to Loki's scepter.

You rolled your eyes and moved to a window.

Tony was blasting back to the jet.

"Finally!"

The loading bays door opened and he landed inside, suit opening.

He rushed out, head whipping around, eyes bloodshot, tears running down his cheeks.

"Hey hey what's wrong Tony?"

He looked towards you and ran at you, sinking to his knees in front of you. He wrapped his arms around your hips and buried his face in your stomach.

"I'm so sorry!"

You were extremely confused.

"Sorry for what?"

"I'm sorry I left you for dead, I'm sorry I didn't save you!!"

"Tony, I'm alive, I'm fine."

You ran gentle fingers through his hair, effectively calming his sobs.

Everyone watched in shock as you calmed the sarcastic, obnoxious ass.

When he had stopped crying he began following you everywhere, watching protectively over your shoulder.

After three days of this, you finally turned to him.

"Tony why the hell have you become so freaking protective of me?"

He looked down.

You raised an eyebrow, a signal you had run out of patience.

"I-I had some sort of vision, every one of us lay dead on the ground." "You were dying as you asked me why I didn't save you." "I'm never letting you go Y/N, I love you too much."

By the time he'd finished, you were astonished.

"The big bad billionaire finally fell in love?"

He nodded, looking ashamed.

"It's about bloody time too."

He looked up just as you crashed your lips into his.
