The two rangers, Daisuke, along with the servants and students were within the forest behind the Watanabe House. They had all walked until they were far enough from the house and found a flat surface to, apparently, do some cult type shit on.

"Not witchcraft." Daisuke finally acknowledged Kevin's question. "Ancient methods. There was a time before samuraizers."

"Now Lauren, you must draw the symbols of darkness, light, then blood." Daisuke instructed her, simultaneously pointing at the circles she needed to draw them in.

"Darkness, light, and blood..." Lauren replied.

"Yes." Daisuke gestured for the students to place Terry, whom they carried, on the circle.

"I still don't understand how this is supposed to work." Kevin was unsure. "What if this ends up hurting him, or worse?"

"Well, before there were rangers, there was a way of relinquishing evil energy. And that was through rituals carried out by the few blessed families that had symbol power. Families that would soon pass on the duty of being a samurai ranger." Daisuke reaffirmed his methods.

"The creation of the samuraizers allowed rangers to fight back using symbol power, which relieved the need to depend on these rituals."

"Here, we shall carry out the ritual in hopes to banish whatever evil is within Terry." Daisuke looked at Kevin, gauging how he felt through his facial expressions.

"But how do we know that this will get rid of the evil within Terry and not Terry himself?" Kevin asked, preparing to shut down this operation.

"If that were the case Kevin, he could not be saved." Daisuke admitted to Kevin. "So the question is, do you believe Terry is fully evil?"

"You mean that you know this may kill him? You believe he should die if he is fully gone?" Kevin was shocked. "This is ridiculous! We can't do this!"

"Lauren, come on. Let's go." Kevin approached her, placing his hand on her shoulder. "Let's take Terry back."

"I'm going to try the symbol." Lauren told him, taking his hand off of her. "This is a chance of saving him."

"But there's a risk." Kevin didn't expect her to not be on his side. "We should at least be absolutely sure that this will save him. We have to be reasonable!"

"We've been reasonable. We have no other options." Lauren asserted. "He's suffering. And we don't know if he'll die eventually."

"In the past we've taken many risks." Lauren reminded him. "I once jumped into the other world to lure out Splitface and get Emily's spirit. And we all tried to defeat Xandred without Mia, Mike, and Antonio."

"And when we risked Terry's life, it turned out bad, which is why we're in this predicament. We can't do this anymore. Too many bad things have happened to him under my watch." Kevin pleaded. "Lauren, let's take him back."

"I said no." Lauren remained grounded. "This needs to be done. Because if this can't save Terry, I don't think anything can."

"And he should at least rest peacefully." Lauren added, turning Kevin's eyes into flames.

"You're just trying to prove yourself, aren't you? Isn't that what you're worried about?" Kevin's anger became more apparent to the audience of Watanabe house dwellers.

"I need to prove to the world." Lauren wasn't phased by his words.

"Yeah sure the world. I bet you don't even care about the world. Only that you need to save it." Kevin poked her shoulder harshly, pushing it backward.

"I don't understand what you mean." Lauren admitted.

"I mean that you're still a robot." Kevin's face flushed red, letting his mouth run free, yet feeling pained to look at Lauren, whom he would never want to hurt. "You have no feelings and you're only trying to complete a task and get Terry out of the way."

And all Lauren could do was wonder, was it true? Before, she never felt attached to the world or to other people, so her drive didn't stem from love.

They stemmed from her personal sense of duty. From the responsibility given to her the moment she could hold a pencil.

It was only recently when she started to view things differently.

Kevin sucked his teeth. "This is ridiculous.. I won't stop until we find any other method."

As Kevin was about to reach for Terry, a blade came between them.

Lauren had painted a symbol, summoning her spinsword. "You can't."

"You're not serious.." Kevin gasped.

In this moment, Lauren reverted back to her her emotionally void self, unable to perceive the heartbreak and betrayal Kevin felt.

"Fine then," Kevin stepped back and used a symbol to summon his spinsword. "If you can't see it my way."

"Should we stop them??" One of the students cried.

"No." Daisuke replied, getting ready to kick back and enjoy the match. "This is between samurai rangers."
