~Beast~
There is no way I can explain why I did not push her away. I was acting calm but there was chaos in my mind. I could have stopped her, but I didn't.
Whatever happened wasn't her fault. She was overjoyed to see the garden and might have felt emotional toward me. It was just a weak moment for her. But I am not a weak person. Still, I felt helpless when she approached me. In fact, I didn't even realize what we were doing until I opened my eyes.
She was panicking. She wanted to run away. I knew she regretted doing that. And I felt guilty for it. While the guards helped us come out of the web of fairy lights, I saw how disturbed she was. I had told her that we will pretend it never happened but she seemed to be even more embarrassed after that. It was tough to understand what could have made her feel better.
She didn't talk to me until we got out of the garden. She waited for us to be alone but I was afraid. I had never felt so weak in my life. It was as if I had no control over myself and I feared it the most.
Just a day ago she told me that she trusted me. But I had broken her trust. Only if I had been in control, I could have stopped her from kissing me.
"Don't worry too much," she said trying to avoid looking at me.
"I'm not worrying, it's okay. It... happens." I lied. Although for me it was a rare thing, I didn't know about her. I just didn't know what to say to make it less awkward.
"Yes, it happens all the time." she shrugged and laughed.
"Yes Of course it was just a kiss! I mean," I pursed my lips. I was making blunders.
"What? No! It wasn't a kiss..." she laughed strangely. "It was just that... you were standing too close and... umm. Yes, it was like a head clash but not with the head."
I couldn't understand what she was trying to say but I understood that she didn't consider it a kiss. I should have felt better but I didn't. I felt disappointed.
I saw her walk inside the house and I called out to her.
"Listen," I said.
"Hmm?" she asked turning around.
"Boyoung, I hope you are happy after seeing my garden," I said.
"I am," she replied with some hesitation. She was probably disgusted with what happened in the end.
"I wanted to apologize, for forcing you into this deal," I said.
"No, don't be," she said looking a bit worried.
"You can go back home now. I won't break the deal with your father's company," I informed. I took that decision during the day itself. I knew she had been hiding in a corner and crying over her engagement. I didn't know what the issue was, but I didn't want to cause her more trouble.
"W-what?" she was shocked.
"It was very childish of me to tie you into this deal, I am sorry. I did it when I wasn't in good health." I confessed.
"Because of the rain? I thought you were still in the same phase right now?" she asked.
Her questions were always blunt. I had no answer for them.
"I don't know, I don't feel so sick this time," I said.
She rolled her eyes and walked toward me. I thought she would be happy but she was very angry.
"Mr. Seo, everything can not work as per your mood swings, okay?" she said pointing a finger at me.
"What do you mean? I am saying things in your favor! You still have a problem with that?" I questioned. She was confusing me.
