Ashton stands in front of the glass doors, separating the hotel room from the small balcony that comes with it. Although, calling it a balcony might be a bit generous. There's barely enough space for someone to stand on, let alone two people. He turns around with a frown on his face. Nia is in the bathroom doing her make-up with the door open so they can speak to each other.
"I thought it was supposed to be sunny in Italy." He says, disappointment evident in his voice. Nia lets out a small laugh, causing Ashton frown to deepen.
"I'm glad my misery is entertaining you." He grumbles.
Nia pokes her head out from behind the door. "It's October, love. I don't know what you were expecting." Ashton can see her attempting to keep a straight face, although she isn't very successful. He just rolls his eyes in response and throws himself onto the bed.
"I have to go shopping now." He complains. His trip was so spontaneous that he didn't even bring any clothes. A decision that he was now heavily regretting.
'You poor thing." Nia replies, finally getting out of the bathroom. "Luckily for you. I have the entire afternoon to help you buy some new clothes that actually suit this weather." As she finishes this sentence she gives his outfit a quick up and down look. Making Ashton narrow his eyes at her. Nia chuckles before deciding to change the topic, hoping that would ensure that the engagement wouldn't be broken immediately. A smile bloomed on her face whilst she thought about it. Engagement. She hadn't envisioned it happening anytime soon. But now that it did. She couldn't be happier.
"What's on your mind?" Ashton asked, his previous tantrum long forgotten.
"You." She replied, a soft smile on her face.
"You're such a sap." He teased in response. Although the word obviously had an effect on him. His cheeks had developed into a rosy color, which Nia quickly took notice to.
"Are you blushing?" She giggled. Ashton vehemently denied it, by repeatedly shaking his head. "Oh my god. You're totally blushing."
"Don't you have to go to work?" Ashton interjected, not only trying to change the subject but also genuinely concerned.
Nia took a quick glance at the clock and cursed under her breath. "Shit, I'm gonna be late." She grumbled, grabbing her bag and putting on her coat before walking over to Ash and giving him a peck. "Love you. I promise to take you shopping when I get back."
Ashton laid back down on the bed, "Love you more, go kick some ass looking hot ass hell." Nia let out a laugh whilst walking out of the door, her laughter still ringing in his ears even after she's long gone.
Nia and Ashton were sitting in a small coffee shop, both in need of some caffeine after spending hours trying to find some clothes for Ashton. Although, they probably found more clothing for Nia. Not that she's complaining about that.
"Mhm," Nia hummed, swallowing her sip of coffee. "We still have to figure out our Halloween costumes."
Ashton let out a groan. "We have literally been shopping for hours. Can't we do this another day?" He pleaded, showing Nia his best puppy eyes. She looked at him with a straight face. "What are you doing?"
"Using my charm to convince you to go easy on me." He replied, fluttering his lashes.
"What charm?" Nia deadpanned, causing Ashtons expression to shift immediately.
"You used to be so nice." He replied, the sarcasm evident. "What happened?"
Nia giggled, leaning her head on his shoulder, "I met Shay and Laur."
Ashton joined in on her laughter, putting his arm around her to pull her even closer.
"Now, stop distracting me. Halloween costumes. What are we doing?" She said, lifting her head and looking him straight in the eye. Ashton's face twisted up, he was deep in thought for about three seconds before giving up. "I got nothing." He shrugged.
"You didn't even try!" Nia exclaimed, amused at his antics.
"Listen, those were five-"
"Three." Nia lazily interjected picking her coffee up again.
"Fine. Three really hard seconds." He finishes, looking over at her with a serious expression.
"God, you're an idiot. You're lucky you're pretty." The sentence brings out a large smile on Ashton's face. One of those smiles that takes over his entire face. It's the kind that makes Nia wish that she had the ability to stop time, just to admire it for a moment longer. She wouldn't tell him that, however. She figured his ego was big enough already.
"Okay. I have three possible options." She said, taking her phone out of her pocket and opening pinterest.
"Of course, you made a pinterest board." He chuckles, pressing a quick kiss to the side of her head.
"Okay, please keep an open mind. I spent a lot of time on this." She gives Ashton a stern look, which he returns with a firm nod. "First option, Joker and Harley Quinn."
Ashton's brows quirk up. "I thought you were a Marvel girl?" He joked, looking at the pictures she saved.
"I am." Nia nodded, "But you'd look hot as the joker." Ashton grinned and shook his head.
"Next option, Sandy and Danny from Grease."
Ashton cringed immediately. "Hard pass. I've worn enough skinny jeans in my lifetime."
Nia burst into giggles, "You act like they were forced onto you."
"Woman, I am literally traumatized. Don't you dare make jokes." He jokes. He motions at her phone before saying. "Show me our last option."
"This one I thought of last night." She replied, turning her phone towards herself as she looked for the right picture. "I figured it would be a fun way to announce our engagement." She said, whilst showing him the picture.
"Yes. That's the one." Ashton replies, a grin on his face.
