The Elder Kim

Late, she was very late for office. First in the morning, Tae kept on kissing her and muttering 'I'll miss you's' and she was obviously not going to say no to the extra cuddles. 

After bidding goodbyes with him, her car decided to break down. She had to call the service people and took the bus instead of calling for other car for her to not run late. She had a fifteen minute walk to the office and the rain decided to pour on the way. In any other circumstance, she would love to get wet in rain but not today when she had an important meeting and that too with her biggest enemy- the finance department. So much for the fun ride.

Finally entering the meeting after being suitable enough, she went to sit on her chair and apologized for running late with her head down.
"No worries, Aerumssi. Afterall everyone has their days."

Hearing that voice, the over excited tone of the man she looked up to their temporary CEO. She decided to be professional at the other's remark. While others are confused as how the new CEO knew her and even called her on first name base.

"I still apologize, it's my mistake. I'll accept whatever punishment you think is fit."
"Oh, I'm sure there's no need of that. Afterall we don't want our boss to beat our ass."

The man had guts to speak, a glare was thrown towards him but he didn't stop grinning. Nobody understood whatever was going on between the two. He felt content to see her reaction and started the meeting.

Just after the few minutes into the meeting it was full chaos. The sentence rolling from both the departments held so much abhorrence while acting to be a professional. It was always like this, the finance and marketing never agreed onto something. The marketing believed the finance always comes in between their plans as for the finance they think marketing spend way too much money. But this time the marketing won the bloodless battle because the Kim's shared mutual feelings towards the finance department.

Overjoyed with their victory they made their way to their floor, someone following them behind.

"A fun debate indeed, I missed the drama" came in a beaming Seokjin aka their temporary CEO.
"How about a BBQ party, my treat."

The seven figured looked at him as if he said something offensive.
"What? I get it, I'm the new boss but trust me I'm nothing like him. As you already know I'm here for few days and it'll be cool to interact with new people outside office."

"I'm in" Soobin chirped finding it interesting and to not miss the chance.
"Me too" Hari said and then one by one everyone decided to go for Korean BBQ including Jennie. As for Ari, she had no plans without her boyfriend and who says no to free food.

"Great, Aerumssi please come to my office."

She knew it'll raise a lot of questions but she had no option than to comply. Anyways she was looking forward to greet him properly. Once the office door was closed Ari hugged Jin and asked her about his whereabouts.

"How is my dear brother treating you, Ari?" 
"You know how he is, always sweet and soft."

"Of course, only with you though. That brat forced me to come here."
"Oh, don't pretend Jin, we both know how overjoyed you are" Ari scoffed.
"Indeed, it'll be fun." Jin smirked.

That's how their bond was, like real brother and sisters. They loved each other's company, teasing till the other gets embarrassed, bets and whatnot.

"Are you going to finally let out the tigress?"
Ari laughed, "Yah Oppa, why would you call my dominant nature as that?"
"Come on, Ari. We both know the little nickname our parents gave to your boyfriend. He might look intimating like one."

Something dark glistened in his eyes, Ari knew that look very well.
"What are the plans?"
"What plans?" she faked.
"Come on, we both know I'm not here on Tae's request."

"I'm not doing anything like that, it's all in the past."
"Oh, don't be so boring. We ought to have fun. I miss those days."

"Didn't Tae warn you?"
"He's not here. And he won't know anything about it."

"We work in a professional environment now, it's not college."

She stood up to leave leaving no room for further discussion.

"That's exactly what I'm saying, don't you miss that Ari. Think about it."

She knew what he meant by that, he was trying to spark up the feeling, but that's not happening she knows it'll only bring trouble. She won't lie if she didn't feel excited at the thought of it but she had to remind herself that she's not nineteen anymore and this is a workplace.

The restaurant was a typical BBQ place, all eight of them took their seats and ordered. Ari loved the feeling of alcohol in her throat, how long has it been since she last enjoyed it. She usually doesn't drink during work days as to avoid any hangover. But today she was feeling to have more than one drink as she gulped down the beer and soju glass which Jennie prepared, it's amazing how that girl knew everything.

"Slow down, Aerumssi. We don't want to see you drunk." Ari glared at Jin for calling her by her name in front of others. Others were curious but no one dared to speak except Jiwon who wanted to know why is their new boss calling her friend like old buddies,

"Do you guys know each other?"
"Know each other? That's a small word to describe our relation." The man was teasing her.

"What do you mean?"
"Honey, we've been to same university." Jin rolled it out of his tongue so easily.
OH's filled the table to display their surprise as everyone's questions were answered.

"Oh, this is exciting! How was Ari in college? Did she have any boyfriend?" Jiwon inquired.

Ari was mentally hoping that Jin won't reveal their secret. The man knew what'll happen to him, he won't dare test her limits.
"I don't think anyone's been attracted to her."

Ari was thankful but Jiwon had other plans.
"Pff, as if. People must be blind if they can't recognize such beauty."
'Ugh, stop instigating this man Ji' Ari scolded her in mind.

Jin chose to not reply. He himself found it was crazy as to why they keep their relationship so private but he's fine with whatever keeps them happy. The night went on with them getting to know each other, laughs, Jin sharing few embarrassing stories about her but Ari was happy that Jin decided to plan this get to gather, it just made them to grow their friendship.
