The rain slowly fell down from the dark clouds dooming everything under it. My eyes fixated on each drop as if nothing else mattered. It didn't. I concentrated on each drop as they slowly fogged up my mind with aimless thoughts. Thoughts that weighed on my mind constantly without fail. The thoughts that loomed around me for the whole day. How idiotic.
Unfortunately, i wasn't able to spend all day admiring the slow drops of rain. I had things to do, places to be, yet I couldn't quite get myself to move. I've always found rain beautiful, even when i was younger. Although it's cold and bitter, it's a constant downpour of unsettling thoughts and emotions: the rain just washes everything away. Eventually I would have to get moving but just for a short while I allowed the rain to consume me whole. How distracting.
Eventually, i tore myself away from the window and reluctantly begun my day. I took a crippled set of steps towards the bathroom immediately taking off my clothes and throwing myself in the shower like I do every Monday morning. I let the hot water find its way down my body and smack against the floor. How relaxing.
I wrapped a black towel around my waist, exiting the bathroom in search for clothes. I always could walk around naked but it would never feel right. It's just odd. I opened up my small wardrobe, seeking for a half decent think to wear. Eventually, I picked out a dark grey suit, white shirt and a blue tie to compliment the pocket square in my upper pocket. Unfortunately, I had work today meaning I had next to no say in my outfit.
I decided to skip breakfast and grab coffee at the local cafe. A simple black coffee. I grabbed my keys from the small marble dish that was given to me as a welcome home gift. It was chipped and old now, 6 years old, yet i still kept it there. I grabbed them and left the apartment, locking the white door behind me. I descended down the slanted, obsolete stairs, exiting the building and heading straight to my favourite coffee shop.
As I wandered in I immediately noticed the person behind the register. Her name was Danny and she has been working here for about 3 months. As always she wore her signature red beanie, hiding her dark, coloured curls. Danny was 20 and in university studying marine biology. Although she was new here, she still made a perfect coffee.
D- "Hi Andrew, just the usual?"
A- "Yes please"
I pass her the money, the exact change of course and she gives me a smile.
D- "Looking very nice today Andy" She said with subtle wink.
I didn't think twice of it and patiently waited as she made me my usual coffee. As I collected my coffee I heard a whisper down my ear
?- "You know she was flirting with you right?"
