Zee and the Scratchy Spots

The sun was rising over The Rainbow Kingdom, and Zee was peacefully sleeping in bed, under the covers. Zee soon woke up, sitting up and rubbing his eyes while yawning. He then got out of bed, then went to the bathroom.

Meanwhile, Zee's parents were in the kitchen. Zed was drinking coffee, and Zen was making breakfast. Zee walked into the kitchen.

"Morning mom, morning dad." said Zee

"Oh my!" said Zen

"Whoa! That's uh, quite a lot of freckles ya got there bud!" said Zed

"Huh? What are you talking about? What's wrong?" asked Zee

"Come on sweetie. Let's go to the bathroom." said Zen

"Uuh, ok." Zee said, unsure of what was going on.

Zen and Zed took Zee to the bathroom and Zee looked in the mirror. His face was covered in red spots.

"Aah! What's wrong with me!? Why do I have spots on my face!?" Zee asked alarmed

"Don't worry sweetie. It's nothing serious really. You've just got a case of the Scratchy Spots." said Zen

"The Scratchy Spots?" asked Zee

"Yup. When you get Scratchy Spots, your body gets covered head to toe with red itchy spots." said Zed

"Yeah, they are pretty itchy!" Zee said scratching his arm.

"Don't scratch them Zee. It'll make them itch more." said Zed

"Come on. Let's get you to bed and we'll call the doctor so we can find out how we should treat you." said Zen

"Oh, ok mom." Zee said a bit disappointed

Zed sat on Zee's bed with him while Zen called the doctor.

"Dad?" Zee said

"Yeah bud?" said Zed

"I don't feel so well."

"Hmm, is it your tummy or your whole body?"

"My whole body." said Zee. "I feel sick."

"Well, that is one of the symptoms." said Zed

Zen came back in the room.

"Hey honey. What did the doctor say?" asked Zed

"Well, the Scratchy Spots should go away on their own, but there are things we can do to  help treat it." said Zen

"Well, Zee says he feels sick. I'm pretty sure he's got a fever too." said Zed

"I see." said Zen

"Mom, dad, I'm soooo itchy!!" said Zee

"Well, let's see if we can do something about that. Be right back." said Zen

Zen went and got some calamine lotion from the bathroom.

"Ok sweetie, take your shirt off. I'm going to rub this lotion on you to help the itching." said Zen

Zee took his shirt off, and Zen began gently dabbing the spots on his torso and arms.

"Ok buddy, turn around so I can get your back." said Zen

"Ok mom." said Zee

Zee turned around and Zen dabbed the spots on his back.

"Ok, now I need you to roll your pant legs up so I can get your legs." said Zen

Zee did so, and Zen dabbed the spots on Zee's legs, then he pulled the pant legs back down.
