Chapter 3.1: He Bathed Me. [UNEDITED]

[ She knew I could tell with one glance, one look, one simple instant. It was her eyes. Despite the thick make up, they were still dark rimmed, haunted and sad. Most of all though, they were familiar. The fact that we were in front of hundreds of strangers changed nothing at all. I'd spent a summer with those same eyes-scared, lost, confused-staring back at me. I would have known them anywhere. -- Sarah Dessen, Just Listen.]

"How'd you... know I'm in trouble?" I ask Kevin, who is pinning his boss with a deadly glare. William doesn't seem to take offense on it though, which makes it weirder. He doesn't even attempt to put on his pants.

"He didn't turn off his earpiece," Kevin says coolly, tapping on his. "I heard everything. Remember when I told you to scream if you need anything? I was sure that you were in trouble then,"

I flush in embarrassment. My...conversation with William is suppose to be something between the both of us, I don't expect anybody else to hear it. I've never talked in that way to anyone else but William, simply because I want to get the deal done and keep Gideon's company out of trouble. I'm pretty sure that I did this to myself.

Now I feel like nothing but a worthless piece of shit.

Like a slut. Whore.

They sold their bodies for money, and I for a deal. I'm nothing different to them.

"Don't worry, Miss," Kevin says. "This bastard can't harm you anymore. He'll have to stay in jail and leave his company."

"When is Gideon coming?" I ask, my voice quivering. I'm shaking, my legs are far too weak to carry me on my feet, and I'm too afraid to sleep. Not when William is still in the same room with me, staring at me as if I'm a piece of meat he's to be devouring.

He's cuffed to the table, he can't touch you. Kevin is here for protection, Kevin will look after you before Gideon arrives, which he will soon. Please be here soon.

The sirens blare loudly below the company. Kevin receives a signal in which the police are coming right up to arrest William. In two minutes.

"Miss, can you stand up?" He asks, taking my palm in his.

I try to stand, but my knees fail me, causing me to tumble onto the ground. He catches my arm and steadies me, his arm framing my shoulders. "I'll help you, slowly. Don't be afraid."

"When is he going to come?" I ask softly, weakly, but got no reply from Kevin.

The police kicks the door open, holding a pistol in his hands. He scans the room and immediately spots Kevin and me, before shooting a dirty glance at William.

"Arrest William Gilbert now," the commander orders.

"Yes sir," two men from behind hurries over to William as they strain to not look at his unworn pants. The rest I don't know.

The commander approaches me and nods at me.

"Miss, I'm going to have to take you back to the police station for a little interrogation about what just happened jut now, alright?" He asks me, genuinely.

I nod.

"It'll probably take up the whole night, but are you okay with that?"

I nod again.

My eyes flicker to the door when Gideon-my man-finally arrives, a worried and sick expression plastered to his pale face. He catches my eyes immediately and darts at me.
