"Gege...please...run..."
Xie Lian came back to his senses hearing these words from a familiar voice. He suddenly felt cold down his spine.
What's this?!What's happening?!
His mind was still in utter chaos, his body was unsteady and shaking, and his vision was blurry. All that's clear to his senses was the voice that came from behind him. And, he didn't dare turn around. It was not Hua Cheng's warm voice when he spoke to him, neither it was his cold tone when he talked to strangers.
Instead, it was...lifeless.
Soon, his cloudy vision gradually turned clear. Xie Lian looked around yet the place he was in was unfamiliar to him.
"Gege...please...run..."
Hua Cheng's voice from behind him repeated.
Xie Lian felt his heart beat increase. He was afraid...terrified. This feeling again... he had felt it once before. And it was when he lost his parents.
And he only had the two the same option as before: if he turned around, what he would see was something he didn't want to see and he would be terrified. Or, if he did not turn around, he would not see what he did not want to see, but, he would live the rest of his life with regret in his heart.
Just then, as though he was not in control of himself, his body turned around in his stead.
Then, everything was in full view to him.
There was a large crack on the ground behind him, separating him from the rest of the room. On the other side, cement and furniture came falling down from everywhere. It was not that his body was wobbly because he was dizzy. It was because the ground was quaking.
But Xie Lian's focus was not on this. It was the person on the other side of the room.
Of course, it was Hua Cheng.
However, what Xie Lian saw was not the usual look of Hua Cheng that he would see everyday. The Hua Cheng right then was laid crouching on the floor, his clothes disheveled. Hua Cheng's clothes was seeped through with his sweat and the eyepatch in his right eye was removed, revealing the blood red eye hidden in it. And, even at this distance, he could clearly see the purple and green veins on Hua Cheng's skin that was much more paler than its usual paleness.
Hua Cheng was struggling.Xie Lian was already in panic the moment he saw Hua Cheng's disarrayed state.
He did not know when or how, but his eyes were already welled up with tears and the tears had already flown down his cheeks like a river.
He did not know what to do. His body was stuck in place no matter how hard he struggled to move to try to help Hua Cheng. The large crack was too big, he couldn't jump across it. He tried to shout ‘San Lang’ but no sound came out from his mouth, or rather, he couldn't hear himself speak.
As hopeless as it is, he could only cry.
Larger and larger broken pieces of rocks and cement came falling down everywhere. And…there was a familiar devious laugh in the background.
Xie Lian became even more terrified.
“Gege…” Hua Cheng called as he stared weakly at Xie Lian
