Rental Boyfriend

AN: Hey everyone. So, before I begin, I just want to say that this came to my mind while watching the first season of 'Rent-A-Girlfreind' and I thought while watching Kazuya's adventures with his fake relationship with Chizuru, the bitchiness of Mami, Ruka clinging to the main boy and shy little Sumi, I thought about making a genderbent story about everyone. The scenario is the same but the characters go by different names. For example, Kazuya is Kayano, Chizuru is Chihiro and so on and so forth. If you like my genderbent Asta story, I hope you'll like this. Enjoy😊

Outside a college campus, a couple was walking together down the path. The boy had short blond hair and an idol like face with pretty blue eyes and the girl had shoulder length orange hair and brown eyes. The girl is Kayano Kinoshita and for a month she's been dating the boy next to her, Maki Nanami. Kayano was pretty happy that she had a boyfriend and she knew the two of them would be happy. However, on this day, Maki stopped looked at Kayano with a smile and said, "I'm sorry, Kaya-chan, but we're gonna have to split up. Turns out I already have a girlfriend."

Shocked by the words he said, Kayano wanted to ask why, but the boy just turned and walked away. Back at her apartment, Kayano fed her little axolotl in its tank and then she scrolled through her social media on her phone to find that Maki blocked her on everything. Kayano furrowed her gaze and thought, fine. If he wants to play that, then I'll do the same. And she scrolled through her phone and blocked his number so he wouldn't contact her.

Little did Kayano know, Maki had different intentions. You see, Maki planned to dump Kayano by saying he has a girlfriend. The two would be separate for a while and afterwards, he'll tell her his girlfriend dumped him and she'll come running back into his arms.

The first thing Maki did after he dumped Kayano was block her on social media and he smirked as he was looking at his computer screen. He then played with a little friendship bracelet Kayano made him and he said to himself, "All according to plan."

He then placed Kayano's bracelet on a little shrine that he made with Kayano's pictures, a lock of her hair that he snipped when she wasn't paying attention and a shirt he took from her apartment when he visited knowing she wouldn't miss it. He then took the shirt, inhaled the scent from it and he exhaled in satisfaction. He then nuzzled the shirt in his face and said, "You're all mine, Kaya-chan. No one else will have you but me."

Meanwhile, back at Kayano's apartment, the girl was checking her phone for anything to get her mind off the breakup until she came across an ad the said, 'Rent-A-Boyfriend'. Thinking that renting a boyfriend to get her mind off Maki sounded fair and interesting, she checked it out. Kayano began to think about the things she would do on a date with a boyfriend and she listed them down. Once she was done, she sent the list and a message on her screen said, 'Thank you for choosing Rent-A-Boyfriend. We're looking through your date list and a boyfriend will be chosen for you.'

Kayano through the user agreement and the conditions that are needed and she agreed to all of them. That night, she lied in her futon looking at the ceiling and thought, I wonder what my rental boyfriend will look like? I hope he's nice. The next day, Kayano dressed up in a nice looking outfit and stood outside the station nervously waiting for the rental boyfriend to arrive. She clutched her purse nervously thinking what she should say, until a voice called out to her and said, "Excuse me, you're Kinoshita Kayano-chan, right?"

Kayano looked and her eyes went wide when she saw a handsome looking boy with slicked brown hair, brown eyes and a handsome actor like face standing before her. Kayano turned pink a little when she saw him and she nodded. He then held out his hand and said, "Nice to meet you, I'm Mizuhara Chihiro." And after he introduce himself, Kayano shook his hand.

After they introduced each other, the two were sitting in a cafe and Kayano nervously bounced her leg while looking at the boy in front of her and she thought, he seems handsome enough. I hope we do the things I've listed. Chihiro then kindly looked at Kayano and said to her, "Before we start, Kayano-chan, there's the matter of payment for this date."

Kayano nodded, took a out a few thousand yen bills and handed them to him. After she paid him, Kayano asked, "So, Mizuhara, what can you tell me about yourself?"

Chihiro began to think deeply and he smiled and said, "Well, I like the color red. I'm a university student just like you and I like to take care of my grandpa."

Kayano nodded when she heard that thinking it sounded interesting. Chihiro then leaned forward and asked, "So, what can you tell me about you, Kayano-chan?"

Kayano took a deep breath and said, "Well, I like marine biology. I can name practically every sea creature that lives in water. My family owns a liquor store and I'm recently single."

When Chihiro heard that, he sat back in surprise and said, "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that."

Kayano shook her head and said, "It's okay. He sounded like a jerk when he dumped me and that was just a couple days ago."

Chihiro began to think about something and then he got an idea. He then leaned forward and asked, "You said you like marine biology correct? Is that why you listed the aquarium as our next stop on this date?"

Kayano nodded after he asked that. Chihiro smiled and said, "Then that's where we'll go after we're done eating lunch."

After they had their lunch in the cafe, the two of them headed to the aquarium. Once they got there, Kayano smiled brightly looking at all the animals swimming in the tanks. The passed by tanks with tropical fish, sharks, sea turtles and they even checked out the penguins. Kayano enjoyed every minute looking at the different species of sea life and telling Chihiro the names of the different animals.

At the gift shop, Chihiro decided to be a good rental and bought he and Kayano two different keychains for their phones. Kayano had one with a seahorse and Chihiro had one with a shark. After they left the aquarium, the sun was starting to set and Chihiro looked at Kayano and asked, "Did you have fun, Kayano-Chan?"

Kayano nodded and told him, "It was all right. It was very experiencing."

Chihiro then held out his hand and took Kayano's in his and Kayano remembered that holding hands was on the list she made. Pretty soon, the two arrived at the station and Chihiro smiled at the girl and said, "Thank you for today, Kayano-chan. I hope you rent me out again."

Kayano nodded and entered the station leaving the boy standing there staring at her back as she was walking away. At the building where the boys go after they were done with their dates, Chihiro walked into the office and let out a sigh. He then took off his coat, slung it over the chair and plopped down on the couch. He placed his arm over his eyes and said, "What a day."

Just then a boy with short multicolored pink hair and red eyes walked into the office carrying two coffee cups and he set one down on the coffee table for Chihiro. He then said, "Welcome back, senpai. How was your date?"

Chihiro sat up and took the cup off the table and said while swirling the liquid inside, "It was interesting, Sumiko. She seemed to enjoy herself. Except..."

Sumiko tilted his head and asked, "Except what?"

Chihiro took a sip of his coffee, looked at the other boy and said, "Throughout most of the date, I looked into her eyes and she had this sad aura about her."

Sumiko then asked, "Think she'll rent you out again?"

Chihiro just shrugged and said, "Don't know. It all depends on how she is. And if she does rent me out again, I think I'll show her the time of her life."

At Kayano's apartment, she was looking at Chihiro's profile and reading the reviews that were given. She then frowned a little and thought, he went out with other different girls and they all have something interesting to say about him. Kayano saw that Chihiro was given five stars for his rating and one girl seemed to give him one star. Thinking she's not that selfish to leave one star, Kayano chose to give him three stars and said the date was fine and average.

At the office building, Chihiro was looking at his reviews when he saw Kayano's and he read that the date was average. His eyes went wide when he read that and he said to himself, "Just an average date, huh? Okay Kayano-chan, I think it's time we up the ante the next time you rent me out. I'm gonna give you the time of your life."
