Chapter 8

Aera's POV

I'm on my way to record some covers that I have prepared. The staffs said it's okay to use one of the recording studios.

I'm gonna make covers but I think we will not release it to the fans. I'll be the only person to hear it for now.

I hummed some parts while walking through the hall and just I have finished it some guys were clapping in front of me.

"Good way to start the afternoon." I smiled sarcastically.

"As expected from Aera noona." Jungwon clapped more.

"What are you up to this afternoon?" Heeseung asked.

"Oh, I'm just gonna record some things. What about you guys?"

"We're free this afternoon." Jungwon replied to me as he ate his chips.

"Anyway, aren't you done recording your songs?" The other one asked.

"Yeah. But this one is not related to work. I'm just gonna record covers and listen to them in the future."

"I'll help you then. Jungwon you wanna come with us?" Heeseung shifted his position to face Jungwon.

"It's okay, hyung. Jay hyung asked me to accompany him and Sunghoon hyung at the mall. So, I'll get ready" Jungwon smiled at us and continued walking, leaving me and Heeseung.

"Let's go!" I excitedly yelled.

We got to the studio and I went inside while Heeseung sat at the producer's seat.

I adjusted my headphones and not wearing it on my left ear so I can hear myself better.

"What are you gonna sing?" Heeseung asked through the microphone.

"Oh, you'll surely know once the music starts" I giggled.

"Okay, let's play it then." He said as he pushed some buttons at the monitor. I renamed the music as 'unknown 1,2 and 3'.

As the intro of the song played, I could see him laugh at the other side of the room.

"Aera, this is our song!" He smiled excitedly at me.

"Yes and I prepared more." I smiled at him.

I started singing 'Upper Side Dreamin' and to be honest all of my covers today are songs of ENHYPEN from their upcoming comeback. I asked Jake for the background music and lyrics and practiced it.

"Seriously, you can be the 8th member of ENHYPEN. That was beautiful." He commented right after the song ended.

"Thank you, Heeseung. But I don't think it's possible to be in your group." I replied.

"Hey... Can you give me a copy of your covers starting today? Please?"

Although I am a bit surprised to hear it since I never shared these kind of my covers with anyone. Not Manager Kang. Not even Jake or my parents. It's something... personal. I have been making short covers through vlive and my Aer-a-Jam where I take on song requests from fans.

"Uhm... I'll probably think about it." I made it sound like I was teasing him.

"Sure. Then, the next song.." Heeseung once again adjusted things on the monitor.

The song is an acoustic guitar version of  'Attention, please!' and I revised some things to make it sound more acoustic.

I rested for a bit and drank some  water. Just before I started singing again, Heeseung came in which left me confused.
