Manipulated

Zophise sat on his throne, smirking so proudly in a sinister matter. Now, Kiyomaro Takamine and Gash Bell have an actual reason to come to the ruins in South America. Zophise's human partner, Koko, stood by his side, smiling smugly. An ancient mamono and his human partner arrived to report the arrival of Kiyomaro, Gash, and their group.

"Perfect," Zophise grinned wickedly. He stood. "Koko, bring the girl and her mamono. Let's give a warm welcome to our enemy with a surprise gift."

"I can't wait to see their reactions," Koko smirked and went to obtain the so-called gift.

"Return to your post," Zophise ordered the ancient mamono.

"Yes, Lord Zophise!" The ancient mamono obeyed, and he and his human partner exited the throne room.

Something was wrong.

Before heading towards South America, Kiyomaro and Gash found out that Suzume Mizuno has gone missing. At first, Kiyomaro and Gash assured Suzume had gotten lost, as usual, knowing her absentmindedness, but the next day in class, they learned that Suzume did not return home.

Despite focusing on locating Zophise and batting the ancient mamonos that stood in his and his group's way, Kiyomaro worried about Suzume. Maybe Suzume ran away from home because she was stood stressed with school. Or maybe her parents' recent divorce drove her away from home. She probably went to visit her father without her mother's knowledge.

'Mizuno...' Kiyomaro thought, worriedly sick.

After a few more battles with the ancient mamono, having split from his group, Kiyomaro and Gash finally located Zophise in front of the entrance to the moonlight stone room.

"Zophise!" Gash exclaimed angrily.

"I'm glad you've arrived in time, Kiyomaro Takamine, Gash Bell." Zophise snickered. "I'll get to the point. I shall give you two a gift." Zophise eyed Koko. "Koko, summon the gift."

"Of course. Hey, you two, come out of the shadows!" Koko called out.

A teenage girl and an ancient mamono emerged from the shadows. Kiyomaro's and Gash's eyes widened in shock as they recognized the girl. Her eyes were blank, and she held a spellbook in her hand.

"Mizuno..."

"It can't be..."

Zophise sniggered, and Koko smirked, enjoying seeing the shock on Kiyomaro's and Gash's faces.

"It hurts, does it?" Zophise said sneeringly.

"You bastard!" Kiyomaro reacted in rage. "How dare you manipulate Mizuno's heart?!"

"I will never forgive you, Zophise!" Gash was also in rage.

"Suzume, these are enemies of mine. Take care of them and make sure they don't enter the moonlight stone room." Zophise ignored Kiyomaro's and Gash's sorrow. Suzume nodded in silence. "Good girl." Then, he and Koko leave the room.

"Mizuno, please snap out of it! We're your friends!"

"Suzume, we don't want to fight you!"

But, Kiyomaro's and Gash's pleas were ignored as Suzume opened her spellbook, and it glowed in blue light.

"Gash, dodge the ancient mamono," Kiyomaro ordered in distress. "I'll keep talking to Mizuno."

"...Yes...Zophise will pay for this!" Gash trembled in sadness and anger.
