Gwen Blake x Reader !

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't talk much during school hours, in fact, I didn't talk much in general, it wasn't like I was mute, or I couldn't understand, I just didn't find a point in talking to phony people that weren't really worth it. I spent a lot of my time just staring blankly down at my desk rather than paying attention to whatever the teacher was rambling on about. Out of sheer boredom with the class, I ripped off a piece of my worksheet and wrote down just one word, "hi"
It's basic, I know, but I was just doing it to entertain myself. I moved it to the corner of the desk, making sure nobody saw me.

The next day when I arrived at the same class, I noticed that my paper wasn't there anymore, but it was replaced with another one. This note read, "hello!"
With a huge smiley face on the back. I was slightly surprised, I mean, I didn't really expect anyone to write back or anything. "Sup"
I wrote, unsure of what to say to this mysterious person, and I placed the note back into the desk, where I had put my former note.

This went on for days, weeks possibly, I wasn't sure, it was refreshing talking to someone, though. We began getting closer, for some odd reason, we didn't exchange names, so I never really knew who they were or what they looked like. They told me interesting dreams they had, and I told them about how I didn't talk much. I appreciated them talking to me despite not knowing me, I think it was a silent mutual agreement that we were friends.

I cannot stress enough how fun it was to doodle pictures and write little messages to this mystery of a person. But I got curious. I know I shouldn't have, for their privacy despite us going to the same school, but I was just dying to meet them! I asked the teacher who sat at my desk in other classes, and they told me within their five periods, Buzz, Gwen, Robin, and Griffin and I all sat at the same desk. I internally groaned when I was told that Buzz sat in the same seat I did. That kid probably carries more diseases than a public restroom. Robin was alright, I've seen him fight before, man, that must have knuckles of steel with the punches he throws. Griffin, I've never seen or spoken to that kid in my life, and I didn't plan on it. Finally, Gwen, I had heard of her before, she was Finney Blake's sister, so she was sort of the talk of the town, I mean, with her crazy dreams and all.

It didn't take a genius to figure out who was writing me these notes, I mean Gwen did have a reputation for her dreams and this person I was talking to told me about their crazy dreams. If I was being completely honest, I was growing an attachment to that person, Gwen, who was sending me messages. I mean, I practically memorized the way she wrote. Her handwriting was slanted and her a's were always super sloppy, the dots for her i's were always unfilled, large circles and her j's were very long and curved. It's weird, I know, but I'm not asking for your criticism. Anyways, recently, kids have been going missing left and right, I heard that these three kids Billy, Griffin and Vance all disappeared without any explanation, there are kids talking about the Grabber or something, I don't know, I don't keep up with that stuff, but Gwen had still been writing me notes about the disappearances, I'm assuming to keep conversations going. Today, when I read the new note, it said something about Robin going missing, I'm not going to lie, it was becoming concerning how many people from my school were going missing.

The following days, I didn't get any notes from Gwen, I wasn't sure why for a while, until I heard that Finney went missing. I was upset for her, I mean, I didn't know what I would do if my sibling was kidnapped, I would probably go crazy.

The next few days went by in a flash, I hadn't heard anything from Gwen, which was beginning to scare me considering the fact that she hadn't shown up for quite some time. Anyways, I walked into school with a calm expression on, going straight to my locker to grab some books for English. I slammed my locker shut and turned around, about to go to my advisor, before I spotted the man himself, Finney Blake, and Gwen right behind him. I knew I would blow my cover, but I ran up to Gwen and hugged her tightly. She didn't seem to understand before I pulled out one of her notes and handed it to her. She hugged back almost immediately after that. It probably seemed so weird to passersby, but I didn't care. She was finally back, and I was afraid she would disappear again. Finney seemed unfazed and walked into science. "Was it you this whole time?"
Gwen asked, looking at me with a mix of happiness and confusion etched on her face. "You know it!"
I laughed, poking her arm with my nail. "Look, Y/N, I-"
Gwen stuttered, unable to form sentences without bailing on them halfway. "I like you, okay?"
She finally said, looking up to meet my gaze. I grinned, pulling her in for a peck. "I like you too,"
I responded, smiling. I guess some people were worth talking to.
