Lucifer had picked Arella up and took her to the dining room again, were Amos had served breakfast. It consisted of waffles and blueberries, with some orange juice. But Ari didn't understand why she had to sit on his lap, since she was big enough not to.
"Mmm no, you aren't. And I know you like sitting on my lap" he said, and Cleon, who wasn't sure why he was there, rolled his eyes. Lucifer still had that narcism.
Ari didn't complain this time because he was right. She actually enjoyed sitting on his lap since not only was it too comfortable, but Lucifer was always wearing that rich perfume that she loved, so she didn't mind it at all. That's another question she had, did demons wear perfume?
After a few bites she decided she was full, and didn't want to eat anymore. It's not as if she used to eat a lot before.
"Come on baby, you need to eat some more"
"I'm full"
"A few more bites and you can go. I can't have you eating that little, can I?"
So, that's what she did but only to make him content. She was feeling full, but she could take a few more bites for him. That aside, the girl noticed a few toys someone (probably Beleth) had left next to them as she finished the plate.
"Good job, bug. Why don't you go play there while Cleon and I have a meeting with other demons?"
She wasn't sure what she hated the most: playing with kids toys or being in the same room as hell knows how many demons, so clinging to him was the best option so far.
"No, please! They're scary!"
"Shh, I know they are, princess. I promise Cleon and I will be here. And Gareth's going to be here, too. Just play with your toys a little, yeah?"
"I no want to. I want to go back, p-please"
"Hey don't cry, I'm here" Lucifer said wiping away her tears. He hated when she cried, and he just wanted to hear her giggles again. But her feelings were understandable for him, though. His baby was too innocent for that dark and hot place.
Seeing as nothing worked, Cleon had an idea and a grabbed the hedgehog teddy, clearing his throat to caught her attention.
"Here, stop crying"
"Wow" Lucifer fakely gasped. "That's a pretty... hedgehog. What did you call it?"
"I-It's Spikey"
"That's a pretty name bug, why don't you play with Spikey right next to me while we discuss grown up issues? Maybe we can watch a movie after it"
Lucifer wanted to call himself her 'Daddy', but he knew it would be too much for her all of a sudden. He knew she was going to call him that someday, though. Cleon on the other side felt proud because of what he had done, since it was the first time ever he got to calm down a little girl.
Ari nodded but only because she knew she had no other choice. Being left alone in Lucifer's room wasn't a good idea either, since she still was scared of that. Her eyes were puffy from crying and she was starting to feel a little tired, too, but she wanted to keep playing with her new stuffie for some reason.
As expected, some demons started entering the room, greeting the king and not really paying much attention to Arella. It was only when she recognized a voice that she lifted her head up.
"Gareth, look!" She exclaimed, and everyone turned their attention to her making her blush. Said demon ignored it, though, not wanting to make her uncomfortable.
"Wow, is it yours? It's beautiful, baby. What did you call it?"
"Spikey"
"That's very original" he chuckled.
It was an interesting sight, since Gareth was one of the demons everyone feared in Hell. Arella didn't know it, but Gareth definitely had a different personality from how he treated her, and, well, that's probably why some of the demons shared looks. He, on the other hand, didn't mind for some reason, being relieved by making her feel as comfortable as possible in the room full of ugly creatures.
The meeting started and Arella became nervous for some reason. She was glued to Lucifer's leg and thankfully Gareth was next to her, too. It's not that she was too shy, but they sure had meetings with the most frightening demons she had ever seen. Anyway, if someone had told Ari that demons wore suits, she would have laughed at that, but they did. Even the spider-face one she had met before was there, wearing a purple suit that kind of matched his body.
She also noticed some other demons that didn't look as... monstrous, but were still intimidating to her. Yes, she was starting to feel small and only wanted it to end already, but Lucifer seemed so focused on explaining Earth stuff she wasn't interested in. His voice was stern, but Ari liked listening to him talking since it was calming... even if the others thought the opposite.
Getting bored by playing with Spikey, she sighed and noticed the blocks someone had left next to her at some point before the meeting started. Well, blocks aren't really for babies, right?
Ari constructed what seemed like a castle (consisting of columns of piled bricks) and some other things that weren't supposed to be anything. Lucifer noticed but didn't say anything, and he was glad she was at least playing with her toys.
However, Arella got tired after a while, letting out a yawn and hugging the king's leg out of boredom. Well, it was her nap time after all. Lucifer placed a hand on her head and started stroking her hair, which made Ari even more sleepy.
"We will end sooner today. As for you, Aaron," he said talking to a random demon Ari couldn't see from her spot on the floor, "be careful when you go to Earth. It's your first time, but I am sure you do not wish to do anything wrong. Come to me as soon as you can, too. You can all go now"
By the end of the sentence, the girl was half asleep with Spikey in her arms because she had decided that she wouldn't be separated from it. Everyone in the room left after saying goodbye to Lucifer, except for Gareth and Cleon. He picked her up, making her whine because his leg was comfortable.
"I'm going to take her for a nap, do not kill yourselves while I'm gone"
"Sure thing" Cleon said.
As Lucifer had said, they soon entered the bedroom but Ari was still half asleep on his arms. He took the shoes he had made her wear for the day off and untied her hair in order to make her more comfortable, and laid her in the middle again.
"Stay?"
"Shh, I'm not leaving, Daddy's here. Sleep"
He wanted to slap himself at that instant... thankfully, Ari didn't seem to notice what he had just called himself, or didn't mind it at all. Lucifer wanted to sigh in relief, and he laid next to her, stroking her hair.
