Izuku's POV
'I just want a place to call home. Is that so much to ask?'
Once again, I sigh when my stomach starts growling for food. The only solution to this problem is to ignore it. Or sleep until my hunger goes away.
I take one look last look at my so-called 'home' before I close my eyes and let sleep consume me in hopes of forgetting my appetite.
'I still don't understand. Where did I go wrong in life? What did I do to deserve this?'
**Flashback to 3 years ago**
Three year old Izuku
I could hear Mommy and Daddy yelling at each other in the living room again, but I ignore it. Its normal for them to yell, I sometimes wonder why they scream at each other. My playmate's parents never yell at each other in public, but mine do.
" He's our son Hisashi! How could you say that?!" Said Mommy. "That thing can't even talk!! The only thing it can do is act like the animal. It is and- "
I shut my door to my room, but that only causes their shouting to be muffled. It's better than nothing, but I still don't like it.
I run to my bed and hide under the covers. I take a book under my pillow and open it. I still can't read that well, but I can understand it. Reading has always been my favorite thing to do. But right now, I'd rather look at the pictures. I see a lady holding hands with a guy and two kids like me, happy.
.....smiling.
'I wish that was us....'
My thoughts are interrupted by a pat on my back. I move a little but say nothing.
'Like I can say something...' I think bitterly.
Once again, someone pats my back. But I still do nothing. I know who it is, but I don't really wanna see anyone. Especially when Mommy and Daddy yell.
"Come on kiddo, its me" She says.
I take a quick peek out from under the blanket. It's my sister. She smiles at me a lot. Sometimes, I can tell when she forces them. Even then, she never yells at me.
She says, "There he is! Why are you hiding?"
I look at the door, knowing what's going on the other side. She looks at the door and smiles sadly at me.
"It's alright Izuku, this is normal. You know they don't mean it, right?"
I just hide under the covers.
I hear a sign and feel someone sitting on my bed. "Otōto, everything will be okay. Things will change, I promise." She takes the blanket off me, so I can look at her. I know she wouldn't lie, so I just nod and hugs her. She hugs me back and that makes me smile.
I hear her giggle, I look at her and tilt my head in confusion. She looks down at me and starts to laugh. A minute later she sorta stops laughing and explain herself. "Sorry Izuku. Its just, your tail started wagging and it was just too cute to see." My ears tilt against my head, my face heats up because it's so embarrassing. I whine a bit but still smile. She always makes me smile.
